When the truth is your greatest danger, and the enemy knows the truth, things can only go downhill when the enemy finally gets the proof. And that’s the proof the Hashashin get when they steal what the Vatican doesn’t even know it has. Now the infallible decrees of two Twelfth Century popes and three kings, stolen by the Hashashin, threaten to catapult the bigotry, bias, and religious blood baths of the Third Crusade straight into the Twenty-First Century.
Here’s the set-up:
When Templars Sean Callahan and Marie Curtis are drawn into the mess, they face an ancient enemy that has already nearly won the battle, a newly elected Mexican pope being undermined by entrenched Vatican powers, world class scholars who will sell their prestige to the highest bidder, and terrorists lingering over lattes in sidewalk cafes. Moving from Rome to London, Switzerland, and Saudi Arabia, Callahan and Curtis are desperate to find some way to stem the success the Hashashin are having enlisting the majority of moderate Muslims in their Jihad. Out maneuvered at each step by the Hashashin, only a last ditch roll of the dice has any chance of success. But it’s the only chance they have. (122,000 words – approximately 400 pages.)
One Reviewer Notes:

“I loved this book and am still kicking myself for resisting its sirencall for so long. The history and details woven skillfully into the action and well rounded characters made for an exciting read… ”

And when both awaken the next morning, they are consumed with inspiration.Grayson finds his perfect dance partner and Chloe finally finds her muse. But will her secret destroy both their dreams?
One Reviewer Notes:
"Silent Partner", by Renee Vincent, is a moving love story that will have your feet moving to the rhythm of the wonderfully descriptive dancing scenes! Grayson Anders is a seriously single club owner in search of the perfect dance partner. When he spots Chloe LaRoche having a solitary drink at the club's bar, he is immediately captivated. Chloe proves to be his equal on the dance floor, and in passion's dance as well, but she is also a lady of mystery. Grayson determines to have Chloe in his life, and he is shocked when he unravels her secrets.

Kindle Nation Daily Bargain Book Alert: Matt Xell’s THE TOWER OF PARLEN MIN, BOOK 2 is our eBook of the Day at just 99 Cents, with 3.8 Stars on 5 Reviews, and Here’s a Free Sample!

Here’s the set-up Matt Xell’s The Tower of Parlen Min Book 2:

Ves Asirin, an orphaned and introverted boy with a complicated memory loss disorder, wins a trip to the TOWER OF PARLEN MIN, the home of the wealthiest inventor of the time, Jacobius Trent.

There, with 19 other children, he must compete in the Sword Challenge–a series of intricate puzzles and daring tasks–for a prize of $12 million.

As dazzling, glorious and liberating as the Tower seems to be for him, Ves finds that it keeps a dark and secret history that he has been unknowingly connected to for over 150 years, a secret that will define his future and destiny … if he can escape the shadow: a powerful and seemingly unstoppable supernatural serial killer.

Two more in the series are available via the Author’s Page or Amazon search.

From the reviewers:

This novel is a rollercoaster ride of suspense and mystery, complete with nonstop action and a conclusion that will leave you reeling. Needless to say, this is a great novel for all ages! It has a very interesting premise and the prologue had me hooked within moments. Although the writing style of the prologue is a little different, reading more as an informative narrative than an actual story, it gives the reader a much-needed rundown of Ves Asirin and his life leading up to the opening of the novel. The writing style then switches to a third person narrative, from the first chapter through the remainder of the novel, and is very well written.   – A Book Vacation

This book was packed full of action, and while reading, it constantly keeps you on your toes. Right when you think that the action has stopped, something happens again and the action starts all over again. It’s definitely the type of story to keep you entertained. 🙂   Amber (burning impossibly bright)
Stepping into the fantasy world that Matt Xell created was a wonderful experience. The Tower of Parlen Min is extremely different from the books I typically read, but I sincerely enjoyed it and look forward to reading more about the adventures of Ves in the future. I believe that this book would be and excellent story for boys 12-14 year old; but girls and young adults may find the world of Parlen Min very interesting.   – klaragon
If you’re looking for something really fun and highly imaginative then I definitely suggest reading Tower of Parlen Min. There is so much to it that I can’t help but feel I’d like to reread it again. I also look forward to reading more of Ves’ adventures in future books.  –  PandemoniumPizza

Here’s the set-up:

When life knocks you flat on your back, and you know you’ve had enough, try telling that to a dog demanding his walk.

Jay Walker is a fake. He acts full when starved and happy when sad. How else is a guy who has a deadbeat for a mother and a sister battling cancer supposed to feel? And isn’t walking a pet just a chore? Too bad the dog doesn’t know that. The dog lives in the now, embraces life to the fullest and gives his whole heart when offering love.

Off Leash is unique because it showcases issues of poverty that transcend countries, age and color. Alternatively told between the POV of both Jay and the dog, Ollie, it shows the reader how a boy who wants a job to make some quick cash so he can buy food for his cancer-stricken sister struggles with trying to do the right thing in a world that has treated him wrong since birth.

And now, for today only, the Kindle Daily Deal!

Did You Win a Kindle Fire Today? If You Are Amy Pippin Mire of Wolfforth, Texas You Did! If Not, You Can Enter a Brand New KINDLE FIRE Giveaway Sweepstakes Right Now!

Once again it’s Monday afternoon in Kindle Nation, so we’ve got good news and bad news. And then we’ve got some more good news.

For the past week, OPEN SOURCE author Matthew Frick has been helping us all out by sponsoring Week #5 of our Kindle Nation KINDLE FIRE Sweepstakes.

We had a new record of 2,727 entries, and we had hundreds of winners.

Well, of course we had one big GRAND PRIZE winner. Kindle Nation citizen Amy Pippin Mire of Wolfforth, Texas was randomly selected from all the entries to win a KINDLE FIRE tablet. We connected with Amy by email and telephone to confirm her identity and shipping address, and there will be a brand new Kindle Fire arriving on her doorstep by November 23.

But hundreds of other participants are big winners, too, because they’ve been among the many new readers of Matt Frick’s OPEN SOURCE. We love stories about good karma, so it’s great to see that OPEN SOURCE climbed into the top 25 political novels on Kindle this week on the strength of 4.4 stars from 15 reviewers. Matthew paid for the Kindle Fire that will be arriving in a few days at Amy’s office. Every penny. (What’s that? Did you ask me to repeat the links to OPEN SOURCE in the Kindle Store? Okay then. Thanks for asking!)

Those who haven’t won a Kindle Fire yet — yep, there’s that bad news we mentioned — will not have to wallow in despair for long. Why? Because we have already opened up our Kindle Nation Week #6 KINDLE FIRE
Giveaway Sweepstakes. The Week #6 Sweepstakes runs until noon on Sunday, November 20, and entry details can be found at the end of this post.
But there’s another changing of the guard that we would be remiss not to mention: we have a brand new sponsor for Week #6, and romance fans will be happy to hear that, after a couple of weeks of suspense sponsors, we’ll return this week to the world of love and limmerance with a highly rated contemporary romance novel by popular novelist Marie Astor:

On the Rim of Love:

by Marie Astor
by Marie Astor
4.8 stars – 9 Reviews
Text-to-Speech and Lending: Enabled
Here’s the set-up:

Twenty-two-year-old Maggie Robin has been dating the irresistibly good-looking Jeffrey Preston for a year. But when Jeffrey proposes marriage to her a week after her college graduation, Maggie finds herself wondering if she wants to spend the rest of her life married to a workaholic TV show producer.

Her doubts culminate when during a ski trip to British Columbia she meets Taylor Denton, a handsome, free-spirited big mountain skier.

Maggie’s attraction to Taylor is undeniable, but she is engaged to marry Jeffrey. Will Maggie have the courage to follow her heart?

Also by Marie Astor:

About the author:

Marie Astor is a die-hard romantic who wholeheartedly believes in true love, which is why she writes in the contemporary romance genre. Marie is the author of contemporary romance novels, On the Rim of Love, Lucky Charm, and a short story collection, A Chance Encounter and Other Stories. In addition to being a writer, Marie is an avid hiker, an excellent swimmer, a good skier, and a capable badminton player. Currently, Marie is working on her next novel.

If you would like to learn more about Marie’s writing, please stop by her website: www.marieastor.com to sign up for book release updates and events or visit her on Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/marieastorwrites.

So … is that it?

Of course not!

Here are the details on the Kindle Nation Week #6 KINDLE FIRE Giveaway Sweepstakes:

There’s no purchase required, but we do need you to go to our Kindle Nation Facebook page and “Like” us. Give the page a few seconds to load, because for some reason it takes a little longer.

Then just scroll down and follow the prompts to enter the sweepstakes, and you’re done! (Of course, if you want to really improve your chances of winning by multiplying your good fortune by your good karma, we hope you’ll take a page from recent grand prize winner Steve Wisener’s book and pick up each of our sponsors’ titles. But like we say, there’s no purchase necessary.)

One more important tip: we recommend using a computer for this sign-up process rather than a smartphone or other mobile device.

It’s that simple.

Good luck. And happy reading!

Here’s the set-up:

When thirty-year-old English teacher Anna Emerson is offered a job tutoring T.J. Callahan at his family’s summer rental in the Maldives, she accepts without hesitation; a working vacation on a tropical island trumps the library any day.T.J. Callahan has no desire to leave town, not that anyone asked him. He’s almost seventeen and if having cancer wasn’t bad enough, now he has to spend his first summer in remission with his family – and a stack of overdue assignments – instead of his friends.

Anna and T.J. are en route to join T.J.’s family in the Maldives when the pilot of their seaplane suffers a fatal heart attack and crash-lands in the Indian Ocean. Adrift in shark-infested waters, their life jackets keep them afloat until they make it to the shore of an uninhabited island. Now Anna and T.J. just want to survive and they must work together to obtain water, food, fire, and shelter. Their basic needs might be met but as the days turn to weeks, and then months, the castaways encounter plenty of other obstacles, including violent tropical storms, the many dangers lurking in the sea, and the possibility that T.J.’s cancer could return. As T.J. celebrates yet another birthday on the island, Anna begins to wonder if the biggest challenge of all might be living with a boy who is gradually becoming a man.

On the Island is a thoughtful, intricate musing on the human need for more than mere survival. It explores the meaning of bonds formed in isolation, and the ways those bonds are bound to change.
