Here's the set-up:
Conscience can be a killer. A plot to kill a nation, hatched by a secret cabal of ex-cold warriors intent on finishing the war that defined their existence. One man, who in a crisis of conscience, passes information about the plot to his brother, a shattered soul living on the edges of society. When Kurt Vetter learns of his brother's murder, he has no idea how far he will travel, how much he will sacrifice, in order to uncover the truth. With the help of Amanda Carter, a shadowy figure from his brother's past, he races across the globe, staying one step ahead of a trained assassin, in a desperate bid to prevent the unthinkable from becoming reality.
One Reviewer Notes:
Despite the non stop action, Esmont has taken care to develop believable characters, providing enough context for the reader to build a sense of their motivations. I did feel Kurt's characterisation could probably have been stronger in that he seemed to move with the plot rather than direct it. His partnership with Amanda puts him in a passive role, particularly in the last half of the novel. I liked Amanda's attitude, when Kurt brings her the information. She doesn't hesitate to do the right thing and is smart and determined. The Patriot Paradox is an engaging action spy thriller that has a great sense of timing. It's a quick and exciting read, sure to satisfy the reader, especially at its bargain price of just 99 cents.

Kindle Nation Daily Bargain Book Alert: Karen Cantwell’s TAKE THE MONKEYS AND RUN is our eBook of the Day at just 99 Cents, With 4.0 Stars on 125 Reviews, and Here’s a Free Sample!

Here’s the set-up for Karen Cantwell’s Take the Monkeys and Run, just 99 Cents on Kindle:

Film lover Barbara Marr is a typical suburban mom living the typical suburban life in her sleepy little town of Rustic Woods, Virginia.

Typical, that is until she sets out to find the missing link between a bizarre monkey sighting in her yard and the bone chilling middle-of-the-night fright fest at the strangely vacant house next door.

When Barb talks her two friends into some seemingly innocent Charlie’s Angels-like sleuthing, they stumble upon way more than they bargained for and uncover a piece of neighborhood history that certain people would kill to keep on the cutting room floor.

237 pages of laugh-out-loud fun.

From the reviewers:

“This fun if light novel’s quippy, hilarious narrator, Barbara Marr, has so much warmth and genuine gumption, you’d certainly want her on your criminal investigative team.” –  Publishers Weekly

“The story is fast-paced, fun and with quite a few twists all rolled into one cute adventure.” – Socrate’s Book Reviews

“It was just plain fun to read.” – Red Adept Reviews

Take the Monkeys and Run by Karen Cantwell could easily become one of my favorite books of all time.” — Syria Says

“If you like a good mystery but want a refreshing new take with a bit of light fare, enough to make you laugh out loud, then Karen Cantwell’s Take the Monkeys and Run will take you there.” Reviewed by Lee Libro at Literary Magic

From the author:

Welcome!

I’m so glad and honored that you have visited my author page.

I have been writing plays and short stories for many years, some of which were published in various college literary magazines. More recently, my short story “The Recollections of Rosabelle Raines,” was published in the mystery anthology Chesapeake Crimes: They Had it Comin’ available at Amazon.com in print editions only.

My first novel, TAKE THE MONKEYS AND RUN, is a comedy-mystery, inspired, to some degree by a true monkey sighting in my own neighborhood. Because I love to laugh as well as make other people laugh, I have great fun writing the characters Barbara Marr, her friends and her adversaries. When I set out to write this book, I knew I wanted to write something that readers would say, “Now that was FUN.” I HOPE I have achieved that goal. And if I did, please feel free to drop me a line at and let me know! I love to hear from readers. (especially if they LIKE the book!)

I’ve recently released a new book called FOXY’S TALE, co-written with my friend LB Gschwandtner. This is the first in a planned chick-lit series. And your favorite soccer Mom sleuth awaits you in the second Barbara Marr novel, CITIZEN INSANE. You can find out more about these upcoming books at my website, www.KarenCantwell.com.

Again, thank you for stopping by! email: karen.cantwell@yahoo.com

Kindle Nation Daily Bargain Book Alert: Sharon Potts’ Goodbye Neverland – Just $2.99, and Free for Amazon Prime Members Through the Kindle Lending Library — And More

Goodbye Neverland

by Sharon Potts

5.0 stars – 4 Reviews
Text-to-Speech and Lending: Enabled

Here’s the set-up:
  • “Humor and poignancy go hand in hand in Sharon Potts’s latest, GOODBYE NEVERLAND. You can’t help but laugh out loud on page one when Potts’s forty-something protagonist, Wendy Wright, shares wry observations while lying spread eagle on the examining table in the gynecologist’s office. Yet that doctor’s visit is a watershed moment for Wendy, who begins to question the choices she made years before to forego a promising career and devote her energies instead to raising her family. No longer sure of her purpose in life or her value to family and society, Wendy decides to reenter the workforce, only to set off a chain of events – some humorous, some heartbreaking – that will leave the reader rooting for her all the way to the very end.” — Julie Compton, author of TELL NO LIES and RESCUING OLIVIA

If you’ve ever been a mom, or a daughter, or a wife…sometimes you just feel like flapping your wings and saying goodbye to Neverland. (Don’t ya?)

Wendy Wright, a stay-at-home mom, has a fairy-tale existence with three terrific teenage kids, a handsome husband, and a comfortable upscale lifestyle. She’s even won second place in the ‘Warmest Hearth in Our Hometown’ competition and makes a killer chili. But Wendy worries about finding fulfillment “after the kids have gone off to college” and decides it’s time to step off the ‘Mommy Track’ and venture out of Neverland. Despite her family’s misgivings, she takes a temp job that’s well beneath her abilities as a one-time successful MBA. But before long, hyper-competent Wendy is practically running things at the poorly managed company. Unfortunately, things aren’t so great at home. The kids are getting into trouble, Wendy’s widowed father has come to live with them, and her husband has lost his job and dignity in his own mid-life crisis.

Wendy feels the crush of the sandwich generation as she tries to juggle work, family and a marriage that’s fast unraveling. But Wendy’s not about to give up on her family, the company…or herself.

Goodbye Neverland will make you laugh and cry. But mostly you’ll be standing up and cheering for the moms of the world.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:
