The Advocate is an excellent legal thriller about an intense, emotional subject. Attorney, Sabre Brown, works in Juvenile Court, protecting at-risk children. Sabre's latest case involves a scared nine-year old whose father wants custody. Sabre is gentle with the child, while she tries to earn her trust and discover her secret. At the same time, she struggles with the loss of her brother, who vanished some years ago. The more Sabre digs in and uncovers, the more at risk she, herself, becomes.
This is an excellent story line with plenty of suspense and takes you deep inside the inner workings of the juvenile system. Teresa Burrell writes an excellent, authentic thriller.
