It’s Not Just an Action-Thriller, Lie Merchants is a Warning! James Viser’s Lie Merchants is Our eBook of the Day at just $2.99, with 4.6 Stars on 10 Reviews, and Here’s a Free Sample

Here’s the set-up  for James Viser’s Lie Merchants, just $2.99 on Kindle:

It’s Not Just an Action-Thriller, LIE MERCHANTS is a Warning!

LIE MERCHANTS is an electrifying action-thriller set in Highlands Ranch, Colorado. After reading LIE MERCHANTS, you will never look at the world the same way again. LIE MERCHANTS will turbo-charge your e-reading experience, compelling you to turn the pages as fast as you can to the surprise ending that guaranteed you will NOT guess!

In LIE MERCHANTS, real estate executive Tom Worth is shoved off his executive perch and thrust into a fringe world of extremists, finding himself at the epicenter of a plot to strike America’s heartland. Only Tom, FBI agent Susan Black and the Centennial State Volunteers stand against America’s enemies, both foreign and domestic.

The LIE MERCHANTS storyline takes the reader on a roller-coaster ride from Castle Pines, to Colorado Springs, Denver, Taos, Afghanistan, Dubai, Washington DC, Mazatlan and Zurich.

BE PREPARED, this book grabs you from the first chapter and then never lets you go, confronting the reader with controversy from the start. If you can handle the action, you WILL be entertained.

WARNING:

I wrote this warning about LIE MERCHANTS after speaking with several people who I trust. I want to give this warning before you buy the book, as truth in advertising.

First, based on some of my blog posts about true patriotism and the pursuit of Happiness, some spiritually-inclined folks looking for a feel-good novel might be misled. Make no mistake, LIE MERCHANTS contains some very ugly scenes. It is about war and with that comes violence, death and terror. Not everyone likes to read about those things, especially during an age of so much conflict. But, that is the reality of our world today and I wanted to write about how higher values can live and breathe even in a world at war. Spiritually-inclined readers might be turned off by the guns and blood, but they ignore reality at a price. If you don’t believe that America has real enemies who are working right now to attack us, then you might not appreciate this book. In fact, reading about what could happen when evil walks up to your front door with an AK-47 might unsettle you. Especially if you knew that your consumption helped finance it.

Second, some of the reviews LIE MERCHANTS has received compared my work to Vince Flynn, Brad Thor, Tom Clancy and other best-selling authors. I am flattered, but I am not them, not even close. Those guys are great writers and although I enjoy reading their books, I am not as skilled as they are. At least not yet. My writing has a very personal mission, and it compels me to complete the intended trilogy. It is true that in LIE MERCHANTS a lot of terrorists die in very interesting ways and I include descriptions of military hardware and what it does, but that’s not the core message of the story. If all you want is a one-sided version of our nation’s situation and don’t believe that appearances are deceiving, then don’t buy this book. It might challenge your notion of who is a “bad” guy and piss you off. So, spare yourself the angst and don’t buy it.

Now that I got that all off my chest, I admit that I may have alienated two big target markets of spiritual readers and self-described patriots. Consequently, I might not become independently wealthy from the sales of LIE MERCHANTS. That’s okay, I have a day job and I like it, and I get acceptance and approval from places other than my writing.

However, if you can deal with some discomfort and push through the parts of the book that might challenge your current sensibilities, then you might not only be entertained, but you might look at America a little differently tomorrow. Well, that’s my hope.

From the reviewers:

Lie Merchants is a fun but thought-provoking read with a timely subject manner and well developed characters. It’s especially a fun read for anyone who loves action/adventure books and is familiar with the Denver area, where much of the book’s action takes place. But watch out, if you read this book you’ll start to see its characters all around you…  –  “kpcm”

Action packed page turner. Lie Merchants is an action-packed, page turner. Viser cleaverly combines today’s political and economic events with intriguing plot development. Characters pop to life in this action-packed novel. If you’re a fan of Vince Flynn or Tom Clancy novels, you’re going to love this one. A must read for today’s political action junkie!! –  “aandora”

Intelligent action packed thrill ride.  Lie Merchants is a rapid read and an intelligent novel for anyone who likes to read action novels. If you are a fan of Tom Clancy, Brad Thor, Dale Brown or Stephen Coonts then you will be sure to enjoy this novel. James Visor wraps many of the issues facing the United States and cleverly connects them together to create an action packed, thought provoking thrill ride. – TJ Hannom

James Viser is the pen name under which I published my first two novels in the AMERICA FIRST trilogy: LIE MERCHANTS and MADE IN CHINA.

I was born in Los Angeles and graduated from Arizona State University with a B.S. in International Management and a minor in Economics. I started my professional career as as an analyst with an integrated, multinational oil and gas giant where I learned the ins-and-outs of the oil patch. Working nights and weekends, I later I earned an MBA – Finance from the University of Denver.

Currently, I work as a management consultant to the international oil and gas industry. Before joining my current firm, I worked for an independent oil and gas company, raised venture capital as the Chief Financial Officer of an Internet start-up and opened (and then closed) my own business.

Politically, I was an intern for Morris K. Udall and later served as an elected delegate for Barack Obama during the 2008 presidential campaign up to the Colorado State Democratic Convention. After being a life-long registered Democrat, I decided neither of the two primary political parties accepted centrists, making it impossible to fulfill my mission of being an objective commentator and analyst. Consequently, I changed my political affiliation to “Unaffiliated,” or Independent.

I bring my diverse experiences in business, politics, comparative religion and spirituality into my work, creating a unique and page-turning reading experience. My current projects include finishing the third book in the AMERICA FIRST series — AMERICA FIRST. I live in Colorado with my family.

Influences include Ernest Hemingway, Dan Brown, Bob Mayer, Tom Clancy, Dean Koontz, Paulo Coelho and Torkom Saraydarian.

From the reviewers:

This book is a great find and at only $.99 it’s more than worth the risk to discover what this author has to give to the audience. Hoping this is the beginning of many more to come – Carmichael

Good. Reminds me of Richard Starks Parker….only not as mean. Moves fast and well worth the 99 cents admission. I would recommend it, and I hope there’s more Caulder novels coming. – Shelly

Definitely a great read. Characters are believable, likable, and start to grow on you like your own family. If you got 99 cents buy it. I know it’s hard buying from new authors but it’s worth it. – “Citrustwist”

Mary Indiana

4.9 stars – 14 Reviews

Here’s the set-up:

She’s eighteen and pregnant, but with a twist–the new kid in town’s barely been kissed! Could she really be a virgin? The town doc swears it’s true. There’s just GOTTA be an explanation.

But it’s not coming from Mary, as she’s quickly dubbed. She seems to have taken a vow of silence. So it’s up to the citizens of Bellingham to make their own miracles—or at least their own myths. The new celeb is instantly surrounded by hangers-on, miracle-seekers, paparazzi, preachers, and promoters—to hilarious effect.

But are they dealing with an angel here, or someone playing an angle? Con, in a word, or icon? And by the way, what’s up with that strange light in the sky? Could be she came off a spaceship.

Neither sacred nor profane, nor even paranormal, Campbell’s beautifully written book is at once funny and wise, a savvy story of how myths are made, how minds twist and turn around the extraordinary, how the human organism just can’t help grabbing for the supernatural, whether out of the spiritual need for a miracle or a mundane desire for cash.

Think Barbara Kingsolver, Margaret Atwood, Anne Tyler, only really really funny.

Earth Shaker

4.9 stars – 29 Reviews
Or currently FREE for Amazon Prime Members Via the Kindle Lending Library

Here’s the set-up:

Richard Guimond reverses the “Beauty and the Beast” roles to tell a thrilling yet tragic love story in “Earth Shaker”

Inspired by Greek mythology. It takes readers back to ancient times on the Island of Crete. Queen Pasiphae, the wife of King Minos, steps outside of her marriage and lies with the Great White Bull, a mythological demigod. That wicked coupling produces an Earth Shaker, Asterius, the Minotaur
of Greek legend.

Readers travel to1980, and meet a young, savvy and beautiful archaeologist. Driven to succeed, Naomi Slocum is in over her head, when she and her boss, a ruthless curator, discover Asterius deep within the labyrinth of Daedalus. They smuggle the cocooned body from Greece to
Washington, D.C., but as Naomi soon learns, things go horribly wrong.

This thriller poses as a sensual reversal of the Beauty and the Beast fairytale. “Earth Shaker” is steeped in the ever present reality of dangerous desires forcing the reader to question their own
mortality.

The author states that from the moment we know that death is inevitable; we are fascinated by the idea of eternal life. Guimond’s characters fall into that same trap, and quickly realize the price they must pay for immortality. They soon learn that the dead should be left undisturbed and
maybe there is a reason to heed the words: Rest in Peace.

Guimond’s screenplay “Earth Shaker” was produced as a Storyboard Test Film and was named a July 2011 Finalist by Amazon Studios in their Film Competition

The Minerva Mysteries is a new mystery series featuring Amelia “Lia” Mitchell, a writer with a growing online empire. She owes her success to talent, hard work, and the helping hand of The Minerva Society. To the public it’s a female networking organization, but to its members, it is a powerful circle of wealth and influence. Lia’s deep ties to the Minerva Society involve her in their sometimes shady road to power.
For those who like strong female detectives with a dash of sophistication, glamor and secret societies, Lia Mitchell and The Minerva Mysteries fit the bill.

One Reviewer Notes

“Who doesn’t love a good mystery? This one certainly did not disappoint! The protagonist Lia Mitchell is very savvy, strong-willed, yet humble considering her big city lifestyle and family wealth. Her persistence to find the truth throughout the story was equal parts refreshing and a tad frustrating at times, but it was absolutely necessary for the growth of her character. I loved the constant plot turns which kept me going until the final chapters. Just when I thought I knew “whodunit” there was some other detail that came to light and my theory changed yet again. I definitely look forward to book two in the Minerva Mystery series.” – Amazon Reviewer

About The Author

Ever since I was a kid I have been a reader – from Nancy Drew, to the Hardy Boys, right on up to Agatha Christie, Deanna Raybourn, Stephanie Meyer, and even Clive Cussler. Most of the time I’ll pick up a mystery, thriller, or romantic suspense – I love a story with a definite ending.

But I’ll read anything – from fiction, to self help. I love books that entertain – but I also love to learn something. I am a big fan of Brian Tracy, Anthony Robbins, Suze Orman and David Bach.

I live in rural NJ, with my family – which includes 3 kids. I write the GirlMogul blog, mystery books and the GirlMogul Guides, which are concise Kindle guides for getting what you want.

On the mystery front, I’m hard at work on Minerva Mysteries, a series featuring amateur sleuth Lia Mitchell, a writer and member of the powerful, secretive Minerva Society, which is a bit like an all female Masons…

In addition to my non-fiction guides and grown up mysteries, I have written a tween adventure/mystery book titled, Raising Hannah – Or How to Rewrite History – it’s available for the Kindle or in paperback or visit www.GirlMogul.com for more about the books and characters.

As for hobbies – reading, cooking, sometimes, and more reading. I watch some TV though, but am always trying to carve out more writing time. Right now I’m a fan of Empire Boardwalk, Castle, True Love, Vampire Diaries, Bones, A Game of Thrones and Blue Bloods (still lovin’ Tom Selleck).

Hope you enjoy my books – if you do, you can always leave a review – I read them or drop by girlmogul.com
