Here’s the set-up:

Every moment of Sir Hugo Fletcher’s life has been chronicled in the British press: his privileged upbringing, his high-profile charity work to end human trafficking—even his two marriages. But when the billionaire philanthropist is discovered murdered in his London home, tied naked to a bed, the scandal is only a shadow of the darkness lurking off-camera.

Laura Fletcher returns from an Italian vacation to find her husband dead and her home under siege by paparazzi. Is she shocked? Yes. But is she distraught? Not exactly. Especially when Chief Inspector Tom Douglas reveals his suspicions that Hugo’s killer is female. Laura always knew she wasn’t the only woman in Hugo’s life. And she knows she wasn’t the only one with a motive to kill.

The deeper Douglas digs, the more sordid details about Hugo Fletcher he uncovers. And yet nothing compares to the secret Laura guards, a secret that could bring the guilty to justice—or destroy an innocent life forever.

Editorial Reviews

“Rachel Abbott has proved with this debut that she is a cracking writer. The book is a complex layered web, every chapter adding more and more layers of intrigue that pull you in further. I love thrillers and have read many of them, and this one stands out as one of the best. Amazing stuff.” – Rachel Dove, The Kindle Book Review

“Abbott carefully constructed a world of mystery, depravity, sex, violence, manipulation and intrigue on so many different levels that I can honestly say you truly have to read until the last page to understand and appreciate the complexity of the story.”  – Karen DeLabar: Writing on the Rocks

More About the Author

Biography

Rachel Abbott

Rachel published Only the Innocent in November 2011. It raced up the UK charts to reach the top 100 within 12 weeks and quickly hit the #1 spot in the Amazon Kindle chart (all categories) and remained there for four weeks.Originally Only the Innocent was a self-published title, but since the success of the early version, the novel has been completely re-edited and the new version was launched in the US by Thomas and Mercer in paperback, audio and Kindle versions on 5th February 2013.

Rachel Abbott was born just outside Manchester, England. She spent most of her working life as the Managing Director of an interactive media company, developing software and websites for the education market. The sale of that business enabled her to fulfil one of her lifelong ambitions – to buy and restore a property in Italy.

Rachel lives full time in the completed property with her husband and two dogs, and is now able to devote time to her other ambition – to write fiction. Her second book is currently at the editing stage.

Here’s the set-up:

“Flying by the seat of your pants” (aka) managing life by ‘intuition’ is the norm for most people, every single day, all over the world. Hundreds of millions of people flying blind, hoping and praying not to crash and make it home for dinner once more at the end of the day. So, what’s the alternative to ‘life management’ by intuition?

For millions, the alternative is the mass consumption of a daily diet of ‘motivational quotations’ taken like a dose of aspirin, caffeine or sugar snacks delivering that ‘jolt’ of inspiration, or relief from the emotional pain they’re suffering. For most it never lasts. It’s a temporary fix leaving them unsatisfied and hungrily chewing through inspirational slogans, ‘life coaches’ and ‘self-help gurus’ looking for ‘something’ that will stick. Something solid and authentic they can build on.

Life As a Craft
The alternative to the glut of ‘fix my life quick’ motivational ‘fast-food’ flooding the marketplace, is to make a masterpiece of your life the ‘old fashioned way’; take the time and do the work with skill and quality. After all, no mission is more important and no adventure is more rewarding. To practice the whole of ‘life-as-a-craft’, the way a craftsperson mindfully practices the trade of textile weaving, medicine, or carpentry, requires that the myriad activities of the ‘craft of life’ be systematically organized, managed, taught and learned similar to the ways in which we organize, manage, teach and practice our trades, occupations and professions.

Drawing upon centuries of knowledge and practical experience by master craftsmen and craftswomen, Charles Collins has skillfully organized a complete body of life knowledge into Five Elements, providing the guidance and motivation to practice ‘life-as-a-craft’.

About The Author

Charles P. Collins is the author of Making a Masterpiece of Your Life: The Craftsman’s Way of the Art & Science of Skillful Living.

Collins received his degree in business and political communication from Emerson College, Boston in 1976, and continued his education in intercultural communication at Georgetown University, Washington D.C. in 1980. He has spent the balance of his career living and working primarily outside the USA, as an international business executive where he has made major contributions in the fields of international commerce and business performance management.

He writes; “One day in the early 1990′s, when my daughter was about 8 years old, I realized the questions she was asking about “where do we come from?” and “why is this the way it is?” were requiring real answers. Answers that made sense. Not the simple ‘fairy tale’ answers I could get away with just a few years earlier. And, at that moment I came face to face with the fact that I didn’t have the kind of quality answers I really wanted to give her. After all, she is my daughter and I wanted to fill her head with the best possible content I could find. And so it began. The result several years later is ‘Making a Masterpiece of Your Life’.”

Five other books currently in development will complement ‘Making a Masterpiece of Your Life’; Book 6 in the LIFECRAFT Collection.

Suddenly for Laila, it's 1969 again. She's only seventeen, and she's left her sheltered home in Long Island for college in Connecticut. Here’s the set-up:

A New York Times Bestseller

New Adult – Contemporary Romance *Intended for mature audiences 17+* Sexual situations

Someone to Love is a light, sexy read that is far more naughty than it ever is nice.

What happens when two people who don’t believe in love, happen to fall madly into the most beautiful relationship they could ever imagine? A train wreck.

When twenty-year-old Kendall Jordan transfers clear across country to Garrison University, the last thing she’s looking for is a one-night stand. Unfortunately, that’s exactly what, gorgeous, Cruise Elton offers.

Kendall has long since come to realize that love is an illusion that never lasts, and Cruise couldn’t agree more—but something deep inside her wants him all for herself. So, Kendall devises a seat of the pants plan to “play the player” and proposes that Cruise tutor her in becoming a female version of himself, Garrison University’s own playboy.

Real feelings begin to emerge, and neither Kendall nor Cruise know how to classify them. Everything they once thought they knew is redefined as they discover, in one another, Someone to Love.

*Such a cute book and sexy in a hilarious way. Now how a book manages to be both cute and sexy is beyond me, but Someone to Love is, which says a lot about its greatness.

…read Someone to Love, but be warned it’s hot and sexy.
– My Crazy Book Obsession

Kendall and Cruise really loved each other. Their chemistry jumped off the page, and I thought it was written really well. Their love story really was… beautiful.
– Nothing Better than a Book
