The book is not meant to judge those who enjoy that path. Rather it's an eye opening journey into the mind of a woman who suffers from masochist tendencies. We know that a large percentage of people have suffered from sexual abuse and that it has lifelong effects. Most books shy away from this topic all together. Conflicting Hearts meets the subject head on, integrating it into a romance between two people to whom I could completely relate. It was refreshing to me to read such an honest look at the issue. Sexual abuse victims can read this and find understanding and hope. Those who have not suffered from abuse will still cheer these characters on and enjoy their journey. Don't miss it!
