While Oxana is rescuing the town, Autry is struggling desperately to save himself from an adversary more formidable even than the stark circumstances of northern Montana, including the rough countryside and the rough weather, which have brought Girouette to its knees over the years.

Here's the set-up:
This is the sequel to Next Christmas in Girouette, which shot to the top of the Children & Young Adults Literary Fiction List when offered free last year. In Next Summer in Girouette, Autry and Oxana Quinn return to Girouette, Montana, a near ghost town on the eastern porch of the Rocky Mountains, to spend the month of July with their grandfather, a rock-ribbed old Marine known as The Captain. Having spent the month leading up to Christmas the previous year with The Captain and his five old friends, the kids are eager to rediscover life as it used to be lived in the wild Old West. They learn to ride and shoot and sleep under the stars, of course, but they also learn to live with the silence surrounding Girouette—without benefit of television, computers, cell phones and so on—and revel in the adventures of the self-styled “diehards” who still inhabit the town.
One Reviewer Notes:
Michael Welch has created characters that are easy to love. One adventure follows another each bringing the reader to wondering what will happen next.
I am looking forward to the sequel.
