Here’s the set-up:

In a single moment of anger exploited by the media, college basketball coach Tom Jericho became a national outcast. Now, recovering from depression, he returns to the scene of his former glory, a Los Angeles inner-city high school where he hopes to regain his identity at an easy teaching job. Jericho believes that nothing has changed at his old school – not the students, not the teachers, not the neighborhood. But everything has changed.
Lacking any teaching experience, and given no textbooks or curriculum, he faces riotous students in the classroom. Jericho must confront his past and succeed where other teachers have failed, or he will be terminated. Time is not on his side.

5-Star Amazon Reviews

“This book presents a wonderful story. It makes me appreciate more of my loved ones who had been through some disastrous periods in life and still kept themselves strong in order to blaze a trail to overcome a variety of challenges in life. I truly admire the basketball coach, Jericho’s tenacious spirit in the “battlefield” to conquer many “real life battles”. To me, Jericho is a real hero! I highly recommend this novel!”

“I got involved in the characters and couldn’t put it down. Having grown up in nearby Compton it rang so true”

“A fascinating story. This novel has everything, interesting characters, mystery, suspense, fear, drama, unexpected failure, startling victory. I recommend it!”

About The Author

As a college basketball coach, Burt Golden knew the upsides and downsides of the rough-and-tumble game like the back of his hand. He was known for turning around teams, as a supreme strategist with a powerful presence courtside. As a sportswriter for the Los Angeles Examiner, the Spanish language newspaper, La Opinion, and the Japanese language newspaper, Rafu Shimpo, he learned to turn the game into an adventure. Madness of March combines these two passions, matching the inner workings of high-pressure sports with natural talent as a mystery writer.
