Here's the set-up:
When Kevin Speck went to see a doctor about his leg, he never expected to learn he had a tumor the size of an egg hiding inside his skull.

Now, Speck shares his account of the entire process of brain surgery, from diagnosis, to procedure, to recovery.

More than a medical book, this memoir of experience, strength, and hope will keep you turning the pages. He narrates the month and a half hospital stay, life threatening pulmonary embolism complications, and the months that follow.

Many patients will be able to relate to the psychological fears and curiosity they have about their illness, the experience of brain surgery, and the intrigue of the people around a loved one who is going through this process.
One Reviewer Notes:
As a friend of Kevin's (and fellow kiwi) I found this honest account of his experiences both fascinating and educational. I couldn't put it down! There is also lots of useful info in there for anyone who finds themselves in a similar situation. A must read.
Shelley James
About the Author
Kevin Speck grew up in New Zealand and was educated at Canterbury and Otago universities. He began writing as a hobby while living in Nepal where he was doing research for an M.A degree. He has also lived in Japan for ten years.

The Common Man, a story about a New Zealand Pastor who battles his inner doubts as he tries to understand his congregation, was released in September 2013 and is available from the Amazon store. When an elderly parishioner dies the pastor is forced to examine his life. The elderly lady in this story was inspired by the Beatles song, Elanor Rigby. This song was part of the Beatles transition into more social awareness themed songs, and depicts the plight of elderly people.
