From New York Times and USA TODAY Bestselling author, Lisa Mondello, a Contemporary Western Romance Novel

"Ms. Mondello presents a beguiling story that keeps you turning the pages...Truly a joy to read." Susan Mobley - 4 STARS - ROMANTIC TIMES MAGAZINE

Mandy Morgan swore she’d never step foot in Texas again after Beau Gentry left her for life on the rodeo circuit eight years before. But now her uncle’s heart is failing and she has to convince him that surgery will save his life. She never dreamed the first thing she’d see when she stepped off the plane would be her biggest nightmare...the one man she’d never stopped loving.

Beau Gentry had the fever for two things: the rodeo and Mandy Morgan. But for Beau, loving Mandy was complicated by his father’s vendetta against her uncle. This led him to make the hardest decision of his life and he can still see the bitterness and hurt on Mandy’s face. All these years it has killed him to think Mandy had forgotten him and moved as far away as possible from him. But now they’re back in Texas, and he’s going to do all he can to win back her love.

From the Author

Dear Reader,

Her Heart for the Asking
was the first book I wrote for the Texas Hearts series I originally wrote for Avalon Books.  I'm happy to say that not only have the first three books in that series been digitized, but soon the 4th book, GYPSY HEARTS, will be available as an ebook.  I've heard from so many readers about how much they love the Texas Hearts heroes and their lady loves that I've decided to continue my Texas Hearts series.  Keep an eye out for the 5th book, LEAVING LIBERTY, coming soon.

All my best, Lisa Mondello

New York Times and USA TODAY Bestselling Author, Lisa Mondello, has held many jobs in her life but being a published author is the last job she'll ever have. She's not retiring! She blames the creation of the personal computer for her leap into writing novels. Otherwise, she'd still be penning stories with paper and pen. Her book The Knight and Maggie's Baby is a New York Times Bestseller. Her popular series includes TEXAS HEARTS, DAKOTA HEARTS, Fate with a Helping Hand and the new SUMMER HOUSE series. Writing as LA Mondello, her romantic suspense, MATERIAL WITNESS, book 1 of her Heroes of Providence series made the USA TODAY Bestsellers List and was named one of Kirkus Reviews Best Books of 2012. I first read Mitch and Sarah’s story 7+ years ago. I loved it then and loved it more now, the 2nd time around. Their story was well written with a well developed plot. It was heartfelt. My heart went out to Mitch when his ex wife dropped off a baby with a note and birth certificate saying it was his son. She left before he saw her and could get the answers he needed. He never knew she was pregnant until then. He panicked!!! Sarah was part Apache and had just moved back after divorcing a verbally abusive husband. Her plan was to move back on the res and become a storyteller to the children. She agreed to be a temporary live in nanny until Mitch found someone else. Well, plans don’t always go as planned! Besides the great story line and the twists and turns, this made for a constant page turner! It’s well worth reading and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT!
I voluntarily wrote an honest review.

I'm a sucker for western stories with a cowboy hero and this book was not a disappointment. I enjoyed watching Mandy and Beau overcome their past hurts and learn to love again. Marrying the lifestyles of an advertising executive heroine from Philadelphia(?) with a rodeo-chasing Texas cowboy was not an easy task but the author handled it well. Mandy's aunt and uncle were great secondary characters and added interest to the book. I don't remember any graphic sex and the language was clean, as well. The only quibble I had were the misused words, e.g. peace instead of piece and shoot instead of chute, etc.. Still, I really liked the story Ms. Mondello wrote and I'd recommend it to others. I'll be reading more of her books, I'm sure.

Just to get a couple small things out of the way first. There were some grammar errors. Only occasionally, a slip in wording here and there, not enough to take away a star for and possibly a little closer proof reading is needed. I have read stories early on that had so many it was hard to follow the plot etc. Not here tho. It's a cowboy story for sure, rodeo rider, child hood girl friend (sorta) brought back together by a ranch owner they both admire and love, who is having serious health problems. It's a clean story, which is a nice twist, a simple plot with a few small similarities to some others I've read. You know, getting caught, almost, by a rainstorm, in an old trail ride cabin while dropping off supplies etc. Big difference here, they don't actually stay! They do get bogged down on the way back and wind up helping a mama cow with her new born calf! Several instances like that bring enough differences to make this a really well plotted story. I liked the way our two main characters finally work out their long ago separation and find their way back to each other. It's sweet, it's tender, not a whole lot of funny in there but several places where you can't help but smile big. A standalone, HEA that really has a total impact on your heart muscle. That is, if you're so inclined. I am, and I really liked this whole story. I found myself thinking back on several parts of it all day as I did other chores. I'd recommend this to anyone.

Her Heart for the Asking is a sweet romantic story and appropriate for an afternoon of relaxing light reading. The two main characters Beau and Mandy are endearing and their story is intriguing. However, while you will love Beau and Mandy don't expect a well-developed plot and prepare yourself for a story full of repetitive and predictable situations where the romantic story never quite reaches past sweet.

I gave a three star on the review because I did enjoy the two main characters and there is one great start to a story with a scene in the middle of a rainstorm. However, for me this one was a miss and I cannot reccomend it for anything more than a day of light reading. The story evolves in a jerky and inexplicable way. There are many good plot ideas but nothing really comes to fruition. Personally, I like my romance with a little more edge and my books with a little more story.

Eight years ago, Beau told Mandy that he didn't love her because he was going on the rodeo circuit and knew she wouldn't be happy with that lifestyle. When they meet again, Mandy is angry he lied to her but Beau is determined to win her back. Sparks fly. There were surprises in store for them both and some twists in the story for the reader as well. If you like well-written, entertaining cowboy stories, this is the book for you.

This is a entertaining story about a lost love that is rekindled. I felt the author was good at introducing characters and keeping the story moving. It was a clean romance, which is just what I like. One thing I liked about it was that although the main characters had some obstacles to overcome, these were dealt with pretty openly, as I think healthy relationships should. I also liked some surprises that came up that I wouldn't have guessed at first, which added depth to the story.
The reason I am giving this four stars is that I think Lisa Mondello could have filled in her story just a little bit more. Some situations seemed to progress too quickly; that is not to say however, that her writing style is immature. I have read some terrible material that seems to have been written in Jr. High. This is NOT that. Maybe I see the story progressing too quickly because I enjoyed it so much that I didn't want it to end.

Have you (as a woman, OR man..) ever just had a craving for a spot of Romance? Well, this book will, in my opinion satisfy that craving nicely.

Her Hear for the Asking is definitely a western romance. It is written very well, and I personally was glad that it didn't have too much angst. There was just the right amount of it and just the right amount of fluff. What I really liked, is that Ms. Mondello did not focus solely on the Romance, her central themes are family and family relationships. In other words, it is very well balanced and blended together nicely.

    I recommend.

I like the story. It's deep and rich in emotions. It's very romantic and there is not sex scenes like in others. I was fed up with romantics books full of erotics scenes and empty of romaticism. Howeverer, I've missed a more devoloped ending

I enjoyed this from the start. Lisa Mondella gets you involved with the characters from the beginning and just keeps giving you more. Mandy is a young woman who had her heart broken by her first love and then has to suddenly be back in his company and until she finds out the truth about why he left she struggles with her feelings for him. I can't wait to read the next 2 books in the series if this is anything to go by.
