Here's the set-up:

Between leading Charleston Prep to victory week after week, and pleasing his tyrannical and racist mother, Scott never had time to develop that romantic spark with Reyna. But when his once healthy body is attacked by a debilitating disease, he reevaluates what’s important in life. Just when he finally realizes he’s in love with Reyna, Barack Obama wins the presidential election and throws their small private school into racial turmoil. Now it is up to them to unite a city.

I loved this book. I read it in 1 day. I love a book that makes you feel like you are right there. This is the fourth book I've read by Leslie DuBois and I haven't been let down yet. This book was touching, heartfelt and warming. I don't want to spoil it for anyone else. I read a lot of books and I can say this is a book if someone asks me 2 years from know what's it about and how was it I could tell them like it I read it yesterday.
