Late 1930's Brooklyn, the Great Depression had almost gone. Ben's can't-lose scheme didn't--until the racetrack shut him down. Now, over twenty years later, a NYC fireman, he would be tested once again but this time the stakes were much higher.

I raced to the finish and never looked back! This clever, engaging book highlights a part of the horseriding game that most of us never get to see firsthand.
It illustrates the behind the scenes action that serious handicappers rarely share with the naive public. I learned alot about the potential consequences and rewards that can come about when you put everything on the line and follow what you beieve no matter what. This is a rare story of courage born of need.
