Here’s the set-up:

Nevada: America’s number one tourist destination… if you’re DEAD!

After surviving the first days of the zombie apocalypse, Sheriff Penny Miller and her friends relax in what’s left of Las Vegas. The Army asks Miller and her party to return to Crystal Place, the Top Secret base that was birthplace of the zombies. Even though the mission is to recover data that may lead to a cure for the virus—and Miller herself—she’s pretty sure it’s a bad idea. The Army assures her that a crack team of mercenaries will be there to protect them every step of the way.

When Miller sees weird religious graffiti scrawled in blood on the concrete walls, she’s sure their chances of survival have just dropped to damn near zero. Again.

Sometimes it sucks being right!

“It’s zombies. A mad scientist. An ass-kicking female sheriff out to save the world. A fun ride. One of the better novels of the undead. Recommended.” —Horror World

“Zombie thrillers loaded with sex and smarts.” —Jonathan Maberry

About The Authors
Harry Shannon

Like most authors, I’ve kicked around a lot. I’ve been an actor, a singer, an Emmy-nominated songwriter, a recording artist in Europe, a music publisher, a VP of Carolco Pictures and worked as a free-lance Music Supervisor on films such as ‘Basic Instinct’ and ‘Universal Soldier.’ I’m currently a counselor in private practice. All of my MICK CALLAHAN mystery novels are available on Kindle, and a few will be coming back into print in 2013. Check out my thriller THE PRESSURE OF DARKNESS. I have published dozens of short stories and written a number of screenplays, including the Lionsgate horror movie and novel DEAD AND GONE. My dark thriller CLAN was recently released on Kindle. My comic thriller, a zombie opus entitled THE HUNGRY (co-written with Steven W. Booth) is out now, and so is the sequel, THE HUNGRY 2: THE WRATH OF GOD. There’s also a pulp novella written for an exciting new Kindle/paperback series published by Amazon’s own 47North. My entry is entitled THE DEAD MAN: KILL THEM ALL! For the curious, I’ve twice been nominated for the Stoker Award by the Horror Writer’s Association. I’ve won the Tombstone and the Black Quill once each, and my short story FIFTY MINUTES, co-written with Joe Donnelly, was recently chosen for inclusion in the prestigious anthology Best American Mysteries of 2011. You can find me on Facebook or Twitter.

Steven W. Booth

Steven has earned a BA in Economics (with an emphasis on Business) and a minor in History from the University of California at Santa Cruz. He has gone on to earn an MBA in Nonprofit Management from the University of Judaism in Los Angeles and a Masters of Arts in Teaching from National University. Steven has had many jobs and careers over the last two decades, including but not limited to, telephone installer, pizza chef, customer service and tech support rep, fundraiser, parking attendant, administrative assistant, computer repair technician, archery instructor, alarm system installer, taxi driver, teacher, short video producer, author, editor, and most recently, publisher. Just about the only thing he hasn’t been (according to his sister’s reckoning) is a bartender, a bouncer, and a Peace Corps volunteer, though those are certainly not out of the question.

Not much of a reader as a child, Steven discovered Peirs Anthony, David Gerrold, and Patrick O’Brian in his mid-teens and has been an avid reader ever since. Apart from the above-named authors, he has read nearly everything by authors Steven Brust, Steven Saylor, Isaac Asimov, Peter S. Beagle, and Roger Zelazny, among others. He considers Anna Karenin to be the greatest novel ever written.

Steven earned his pilot’s license at age 17, despite getting lost a few days before Christmas in a Cessna 152 and ending up spending a night at Big Bear Lake in the mountains of Southern California. He is still amazed that his mother ever let him fly again. At UC Santa Cruz, he encountered the Society for Creative Anachronism and quickly rose to the rank of Seneschal, mainly because he was the only one foolish enough to take on the thankless position. He holds the title of Lord and the rank of Master Archer. It was his experience with the SCA that made him choose to earn an MBA in Nonprofit Management. The best thing that came from his time in Los Angeles was meeting his beautiful wife, Leya.

Steven spent five years teaching computers, math, and science in private schools in the San Fernando Valley area of Los Angeles. He is a serious Star Wars and Star Trek fan, and will gladly demonstrate his geekiness upon request. Steven lives in Encino with his wife and far too many cats.
