Here's the set-up:
Danny Logan, Toni Blair, and the rest of the Logan PI crew are back in action. They're investigating the supposed suicide of a famous mathematician - a man who was on the brink of revealing a new set of encryption protocols that could rock the world. But if they're right - if it was murder, not suicide, then whoever did the killing must be highly skilled and highly motivated - exactly the type of someone who would not appreciate being investigated. And, if that someone had already killed once, they'd have no trouble killing again to prevent Logan from uncovering the truth.
One Reviewer Notes:
Like his first thriller, this is set in Seattle, and his descriptions almost make me want to visit. Do yourself a favor and read both this fine story and its predecessor. You'll find they are both page turners you won't want to put down."

When her company announces a major layoff, Laila finds herself caught between an unscrupulous CEO and her promiscuous boss. One has betrayed a vow, another wants to rekindle their romance, and the third is out for revenge.

Suddenly for Laila, it’s 1969 again. She’s only seventeen, and she’s left her sheltered home in Long Island for college in Connecticut. Amid protests of the Vietnam War, she’s tempted by the sex, drugs, and rock ‘n’ roll that rule her generation. Laila gets swept up in a deceptive love triangle with two older locals and initiated into their unethical hippie family. Too late she realizes her search to belong has led to tragedy.

Laila must now juggle the demands of her perplexed husband and her baby boomer past forcing her to make choices that endanger her survival and challenge her conscience.

She learns that the lines between right and wrong are often blurred, and sometimes you have to risk everything to be true to yourself.

Editorial Reviews

“In Reznik’s debut novel, a woman confronts long-buried secrets when an old college friend commits suicide. . . . While effective as a page turner, the novel also tells a timeless, universal tale of a woman’s journey toward self-acceptance. An exciting tale of past crimes and dangerous friendships.” –Kirkus Reviews

★★★★★ “I love a mystery and I love stories about the late 60’s/early 70’s and this book has both. Really fun read.” –Barbara Gaines, Executive Producer, The Late Show with David Letterman

★★★★★ “Lara Reznik masterfully creates a story that brings the past and present together seamlessly. . . . I can honestly say it is not often that the plot of a book surprises me the way this one did. This book is truly timeless. I would recommend “The Girl from Long Guyland” to anyone who likes to read no matter what their preferred genre.” Katherine Bennett, Reviewer, Readers Favorite

But first, a word from … Today’s Sponsor

Here’s the set-up:

The author uses examples from his own writing and hyperlinks to examples in his other e-books, to help a new or experienced writer refresh their writing world. “We get validated as a person when we create, and when we show or let people hear, see or read what we “think” we have created. That is secret #1. And you already know it. Oh, and there is no ranking of #1, #2, #3. All of the secrets of being a creative writer or whatever, overlap. They flow. FLOW along with them.”

About The Author

I’ve been writing for over 25 years, mostly plays, although I have written screenplays. I also do photography and videos. You can find my videos at youtube.com/stephenpeace . And since I am mostly a playwright, people always ask me if I’ve been produced in NY City. And the answer is yes. I’ve also been produced all over the U.S. and in Europe. I write unusual plays. I write a lot of Southern, U.S. plays. I write trilogies and I write modern plays. I also write plays from the 1800’s South and in old Southern dialect.

My plays have bite.

Making my plays available as e-books will mean more people will have a chance to discover my plays. Theaters, even though they might have found my plays interesting, often were afraid to do my them because they have an edge or seem to be risky. Theaters can’t afford to take risks on “new work”, unless the author has a name. MY NAME IS STEPHEN PEACE!

I think reading a play is a different experience for most people. People are used to reading novels, but plays can be just as interesting. In a play there is more emphasis on a look or a lighting change. Plays are also more about dialogue. Some will like reading a play and some won’t. I hope you do.
Now, what is my name?

Here’s the scoop on sponsor Jess Winfield’s novel THE PERFECT BURRITO:

by Jess Winfield
4.9 stars – 9 Reviews
Text-to-Speech and Lending: Enabled

Here’s the set-up:

In Jess Winfield’s second novel, fiftysomething food blogger Don Miguel de Los Angeles no McDonalds attempts to walk from L.A. to San Francisco in a Quixotic quest to find THE PERFECT BURRITO.

Steak. Beans. Cheese. Guacamole. Pico de gallo.A big, stretchy flour tortilla. AND NO FREAKING RICE! Is this a formula for self-realization?

Twenty-one year-old Maria “Mary” Sanchez, a fully assimilated, half-Chicana Valley girl, joins a fifty-something food blogger, the self-styled “Don Miguel de Los Angeles no McDonalds,” on his Quixotic quest: walking from Los Angeles to San Francisco to find The Perfect Burrito. Written in Maria’s sassy first person narrative and Don Miguel’s comically “high-styled” blog posts, this multilayered novel is part Cervantes spoof, part eulogy for decimated California Indian cultures, and part mouthwatering foodie travelogue. Yet at its core is the emotional journey of Maria, a young woman caught between teenager and adult, American and Latina, and her curious attachment to Don Miguel, who has a mysterious love of all things Hispanic. The burrito serves as a kind of Grail, a symbol of Maria’s quest for cultural identity in a corporatized, fast food culture, the fulfillment (in every sense of the word) that both Maria and Don Miguel desperately seek. While the story is fictional, the burritos and California locations are real, and the e-book will provide links to both Don Miguel’s blog and a variety of extras: from Google maps of the journey to webisodes re-enacting scenes from the book to audiobook chapters, all hosted at www.theperfectburrito.com.

About the Author

His first novel, MY NAME IS WILL: A NOVEL OF SEX, DRUGS, AND SHAKESPEARE (Twelve) was a New York Times Book Review “Editor’s Choice” and a California Book Awards finalist. His second novel, THE PERFECT BURRITO (Oct. 2012) is an enhanced e-book featuring hundreds of original photo illustrations and videos. He is married and lives in Los Angeles.

Tide’s Ebb

Here’s the set-up:
Tide’s Ebb is a gleefully vulgar, take-no-prisoners satire of sex, snobbery, and the legal profession. Manhattan lawyer Marianna Holt loves walks on the beach and hates flying in coach with people who smell funny and wear denim shirts. She’s got the ideal fiancé, but a shocking bedroom revelation involving Tijuana donkey porn shatters her perfect world. When her law firm sends her out of New York for the first time, Marianna feels lost at sea. Life-long Rhode Islander Captain Larry doesn’t need high-maintenance city women… or a last name. When the gruff sea captain saves Marianna from drowning, he’s not sure whether to throw her back in. Can these two irredeemable characters find love with someone equally obnoxious?
Tide’s Ebb is like no other romance.

Reviews

“…the literary equivalent of the Jersey Shore cast line-dancing in soiled diapers. You must love this. Must. Love it.” (Mike Elton)

“Well written and quite funny.” (Wi Love Books)
“…stuffed with hilarious moments and lines” (Tracy Leach)

” …a contemporary romance novella about true love based on oral sex and heroic rescues…” (Kirkus Reviews)

About The Author

Since growing up as an only child in Manhattan (when she was sure she was the only child in Manhattan), Alexandra has known she would be an author. She’s been reading romance since the age of ten (under the covers, with a flashlight, of course) and started her first book (a Regency romance meets Akira-style anime) at fourteen. After a brief dalliance with the legal profession, Alexandra now writes contemporary romance with “clever, snappy dialog.”

Alex (or Alexandra, as her friends call her) likes writing books about strong-willed women and tough, impenetrable alpha males. Her best-seller, Tide’s Ebb, is just one of the stunning works of fiction that is bursting out of Alexandra’s head.

She lives in Newport, Rhode Island with her husband, two adorable twin boys, and an evil cat named Kate Middleton.

Settle in With A Novel That Will Keep You Guessing Until The Very End: S.J. Wright’s The Vampire’s Release, A Paranormal Romance (Undead in Brown County #4) – 4.5 Stars on Kindle

4.5 stars – 26 Reviews
Text-to-Speech and Lending: Enabled
Here’s the set-up:

Her hair smelled like ripe oranges. It teased and beckoned me forward. I came to stand beside her and took one of the gently waving amber locks into my fist. Her head turned towards me, but she closed her brilliant eyes and let her lashes sweep over whatever emotion that might have been blooming inside her head. Without real intent, my fingers left her hair and touched her chin.

“Why do you close your eyes?”

“You frighten the hell out of me, Michael.”

Sarah and Michael have faced deadly challenges. He gave himself over to his worst enemy to save her life. When an old friend comes to his rescue, her methods may bring an end to the Michael that Sarah Wood has come to love. The secret to his release may give rise to a lethal monster who poses the greatest threat that Sarah has ever faced.

This fourth book in the series contains language that some might find offensive, sexual scenarios not appropriate for children and violent situations. It is roughly the same length as the other books in the series (36,788 words as calculated in Microsoft Word 2010.)

One Reviewer Notes

“I have been a fan for a while. I could not wait for the release of this book, as I wondered what would come of Michael and Sarah. Well, this book certainly delivered those answers and more! This is a must read and brings the entire series to a wonderful end. There are many shocking twists and turns that you never imagine or even see coming. The ending left me surprised, but in the back of my mind I can see additional spin offs on some of the other characters in the book. I highly recommend this book, you will certainly enjoy it.” – 5 Stars
