Editorial Reviews

“Chilling and dark, Donna Galanti’s A Hidden Element is a twisty journey into another world, where fathers and sons fight the ultimate battle, and ghostly strangers manipulate those left behind on Earth. Don’t miss it.” —J.T. Ellison, New York Times bestselling author of When Shadows Fall

“A Hidden Element is a fascinating look at the bleak and graphic world of the Elyon Destroyers, a humanoid race with special powers and a strong drive to endure and procreate at all costs, and other Elyons who struggle to stop them and save humanity. It is also a haunting story about just how far parents will go to protect, or destroy, their children in the name of love.” —Rebecca Cantrell, New York Times bestselling author of The World Beneath

“Donna Galanti’s A Hidden Element expertly mixes genres, combining sci-fi with mystery, thriller and romance. The result is a pulse-pounding read that will keep you up long past your bedtime, turning pages as fast as you can. If you love suspense, do yourself a favor and make Donna Galanti’s Element series your next read.” —Allan Leverone, New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of Final Vector

Historical fiction, written by a 28 year U.S. Army veteran, follows Rome’s Legio XVII from its creation to final battle and puts you in the minds of Praetor Manius Tullus and his Centurions as they plan and fight their way across Northern Italy and Austria. Praetor Tullus, a survivor of Cannae, recruits, trains and leads Legio XVII on a 30-month independent expedition to face battle-hardened Gallic and Germanic tribes. Meanwhile, in southern Italy, 23 Roman Legions battle Hannibal in a desperate struggle for the survival of Rome.

Reviews

“A sweeping, engaging work of historical fiction that will please any Roman history fan and especially those who enjoy an authentic voice to their military maneuverings. It is as close to being in a battle as you possible can be without actually being there. I felt like I was transported back in time and witnessing history unfolding firsthand.  A book that can entertain as it educates is very rare indeed. Highly recommend.”  Mark Williams

“Well-researched and genuinely interesting. A great story. I loved how I felt like I learned something that I never knew before, plus lots of battles and fighting. The descriptions were amazing – you can feel the heat on your skin, the dust in your eyes, the smell of blood and the stench of death around you. …history really came alive in these pages….it was really very good and I’m going to recommend it to my father who is a Roman history fanatic!” Stacy Decker

Here’s the set-up:

Ten year-old Sascha is a brilliant beautiful child of privilege. His best friend is blue-blooded Christian, whose bond with him is unusually intense, often existing within an intensely vivid shared fantasy world. Over the years, however, he and Christian’s relationship has become increasingly odd and disturbing. One day, Christian reveals something to Sascha so bizarre that he refuses to believe it. Yet his refusal sends Christian into an obsessive pursuit to convince him of his truthfulness, one that engages Sascha in a game of psychological torture that darkens with each move.
The story of children dwelling in a gilded hell, Feral Little Gods is a mediation on the seductiveness of cruelty and the false innocence of childhood.

Excerpts of the novel have published in both The Write Room and The Stone Hobo. The excerpt in the latter publication was nominated for a 2012 Pushcart Prize. The novel also made it through the first round of the 2010 Amazon Breakthrough Novel Award.

On Sale! Kindle Countdown Deal! Everyday price: $2.99

In the middle of the Atlantic, four hundred miles west of Bermuda, the eight thousand passengers and crew aboard the cruise ship MS Cypress vanish into thin air. Everyone—men, women, and children—all gone. Taken.

Everyone except five teenagers.

In an instant, their seven day cruise becomes a nightmare: eighteen decks of haunted hallways, pools and bars completely empty, desserts still half-eaten in the abandoned Royal Promenade. A ghost ship the size of a city, sailing blind. At least their annoying parents are gone.

But now strange things are happening. Satellites are dropping out of orbit, falling from the sky. Satellites…and bigger things. They’re not as alone as they think. A message appears in an ancient language, burned into the carpet in the deck ten elevator lobby. It’s a warning. A monster lurks onboard, hunting them. What they’ve long suspected appears certain: the vanishing…it was an attack.

Now the most unlikely of friends must confront the shadowy pasts that link them and regain control of a runaway cruise ship, crack a four-thousand-year-old mystery, and wage war on a formless evil…before they too vanish into oblivion.

5-star praise for Triton:

“…a page turner…I promise you won’t get bored…Great read for YA and Adults…”

Kept me guessing!
“Humor, action, impending apocalypse, and mystery, all rolled into one!…”
