Here’s the set-up:

Could a new Adam be preparing us for the return of Christ—but in a way not predicted in the Bible?

The answer to this question can be found in the strange turn of events at the world-famous Milagro Shrine. Based in northern New Mexico, this powerful healing site has become the American counterpart to Lourdes, France. The grounds caretaker is the gentle and unassuming Adam Gwillt. As pilgrims pray at the shrine, many have enigmatic encounters with Adam. Thousands experience astonishing healings. But suddenly and for no apparent reason, Adam disappears from sight and the healings stop.

Jonathan Ramsey, the protagonist of this supernatural tale of mystery and global intrigue, is a specialist in the study of sacred places who is called in to investigate the disappearance of the shrine’s healing powers. When Ramsey first encounters the site, long forgotten emotional wounds rise to the surface. This experience culminates in a mystical apparition that draws him deeply into his assignment. Ramsey interviews the strange cast of eccentric characters involved with the shrine, slowly piecing together the story of how it grew up at the foot of a cottonwood tree and rapidly expanded after numerous paranormal events—all of which point to the caretaker’s enigmatic presence.

Three rival groups descend on the shrine to find Adam. A right-wing Christian organization wants to destroy him; a progressive group of modern-day Christian Gnostics plans to convince Adam to lead them as a new savior; and a third group hopes to commercialize Adam’s healing powers. The race to find Adam moves into high gear. Eventually the parties collide in a desperate attempt to capture him. As the contest resolves itself, Ramsey suddenly realizes he’s been a pawn in a larger drama.

What is revealed is the very meaning of Christ’s promise to return to earth and lead humanity into a new era—but in ways not anticipated by the churches or by anyone else. Amid the international struggle to control Adam’s powers and thereby determine the future of Christian belief, Ramsey discovers his own role in fostering an epochal renewal of Christianity. Along the way, readers also learn why sacred places create communities of faith and become portals of healing power.

The Adam Enigma is a rare event in spiritual fiction—a postmodern novel for the liberal or progressive reader who nonetheless loves Jesus and what he stands for. It’s Jesus-oriented fiction “for the rest of us”—creative, non-doctrinaire, and open to the future. Enjoy this page-turning mystery with its rich array of unforgettable characters, wild plot, and exotic settings

Here’s the set-up:

Honor Land, the third book in the outstandingly-reviewed James Pruett Mystery series!

In this third James Pruett Mystery, the hero is faced with the biggest challenge of his life: saving the life of an even larger hero. Honor Land is a gritty, emotional story of patriotism, multiple murders, a hero Delta Force veteran, Kyle Yoder, who doesn’t understand himself any longer, much less whether or not he is capable of the brutal crimes for which he is charged.

James Pruett and his team will have to uncover the answers if they are to keep Yoder from a guilty verdict and a mandatory execution by lethal injection.

In the tradition of Dennis Lehane, Tony Hillerman and James Lee Burke, Guthrie’s sparse, haunting storytelling compliments his talent for creating richly-drawn, unflinching law officers with human frailties, a code of honor, and a profound sense of justice.

Don’t miss out on Blood Land, the beginning of the James Pruett legend, and the Award-Winning book!

The job of criminal investigator in a rural Florida county is never easy, but it’s even harder when your father is the sheriff.
When Larry Macklin investigates the murder of a mutilated stranger, the search for the victim’s identity intersects with an arson investigation. The common thread is a small group of people who were in high school together in the ’70s, including Larry’s own father. Before Larry can rule any of them out as the killer, one of them turns up dead.
Why is the murderer targeting this particular group? What past secrets could be worth killing for now? Larry is running out of time and suspects, and his search for the truth may make him the next victim.
This had me gripped from the first page! Exciting mystery with a surprise ending that I didn’t see coming – and I’m a pretty seasoned reader of mysteries / crime fiction. I also found it fascinating to learn more about rural Floridaif you enjoy grittier, darker, realistic crime fiction, then this should be a very enjoyable read! 5 star Amazon review

Big Numbers (Austin Carr Mystery Book 1)

by Jack Getze
4.2 stars – 65 reviews
Text-to-Speech and Lending: Enabled
Here’s the set-up:
Divorced dad Austin Carr wakes up every day in a beat-up camper, parked on someone else’s private property. Why? Because his alimony and child support payments were established by New Jersey’s family court system when his income was double, and for the last two years he has failed to earn the legally mandated monthly nut.
He’s had his savings drained, his Maxima repossessed, his salary attached, and his visiting rights suspended. He bought the twelve-year-old Chevy pick-up with the rusty camper for $800 last month because another landlord tossed his butt in the street.
Will stretching the rules, his own morals, and the boundaries of common sense raise the cash needed to get his kids back? Or will his big mouth and bad behavior set him up for a nasty double-cross? See if Austin can redeem himself and win back his children.
