THE SINGING FOREST
In the final hours of WWII, Captain Will Connelly, veteran of the furious Battle of Bastogne, leads his infantry column through the foreboding gates of a Nazi prioson camp and discovers a circus of horrors. Unbeknownst to Will or his stunned troops, the camp, Konzentrationslager Mauthausen, operated the last functioning gas chamber of the Holocaust. Traumatized by the gruesome discoveries at Mauthausen, Will joins the U.S. Third Army War Crimes Unit, stationed at Dachau. His mission to bring Nazi criminals to justice, however, is compromised when he becomes involved with Emilse, a beautiful, half-starving Munich refugee, whose father is accused of war crimes. A principal prosecutor in the Dachau War Tribunals, Will tries to balance his deep affections for Emilse with his mounting suspicions that her father is culpable of mass murder.
