A sassy, badass pirate captain with a spark of magic

Captain Nereyda leads her band of pirates as they seek out grand adventures and loot vulnerable merchant ships. However, when they attempt an overly ambitious raid, Nereyda and her crew are captured by the ambitious Commander Erhan, an officer of the Cambisian Empire.

Her crew is hauled off to slave away deep within the Imperial mines, and Nereyda herself is pressed into service aboard a Cambisian naval vessel. While serving her sentence, a storm shipwrecks Nereyda on an unknown island in the Shattered Sea. As she explores it, she stumbles into some ancient ruins and finds…something. Whatever it is, it wakes abilities that Nereyda didn’t know she had.

These new powers, though, prove difficult to tame. Can Nereyda learn to control her new abilities, outwit Erhan, and rescue her crew before their sentence breaks them?
