Have you ever wondered whether the Devil is alive and has everyone fooled? In Dr. Jerry Pollock’s riveting thriller, Gog and Magog: The Devil’s Descendants, the past present and future collide in the final battle between good and evil.
by Jerry Pollock
“‘Gog and Magog’ has the potential to break new ground in literature in the tradition of Philip Roth’s effortlessly smart, dialogue-driven novel, ‘Deception.’” ForeWord Clarion Reviews
“The reader will be mesmerized by my husband’s fascinating tale.” Marcia Pollock, Soul Mate, Deceased March 18, 2011
“A nonstop fascinating thriller not to be missed.” Midwest book Reviews
Satan is on a quest to bring about the End of Days in this supernatural political thriller by Jerry Pollock. Satan, long banished from Heaven by God, begins his quest for world domination in the Garden of Eden, where he tempts Eve to eat a fig from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil. Traveling forward in time, Satan finds himself in present-day America—where the President and his son Cain are his descendants.
Standing between Satan and his unholy mission are some unforgettable characters who represent the good in humankind. Abel Slobodkin is a righteous young man, and doesn’t realize it, but he has been chosen by God to battle against Satan’s evil plans. He will clearly need the help of his future mother-in-law, Dr. Elizabeth Corsini, a brilliant psychiatrist at a Washington, DC, hospital. In the course of treating a mental patient, reporter Esther Hirsch, Elizabeth begins to realize that Esther’s recurring nightmare is not just the product of a troubled mind, it is both biblical in nature—and represents a covert operation being carried on by the White House. Elizabeth soon realizes there is a conspiracy in the works, called Code Name Daniel, and people involved are turning up dead.
She realizes she is next to be killed unless she, and her sister, FBI agent Daniela Corsini, trade their information on operation Code Name Daniel, for their lives.
A showdown takes place after the president wins reelection in 2020, and Cain becomes his powerful chief of staff. God and Satan order Abel and Cain to fight a duel, which takes place against the backdrop of Arlington National Cemetery. In a climax that is both harrowing and uplifting, God returns to make his presence known to Earth by performing miracles incredible to Him, and the hidden meaning of Gog and Magog is revealed.
Dr. Jerry Pollock is the author of three books: Messiah Interviews: Belonging to God, Divinely Inspired: Spiritual Awakening of Souls, and the newly-released Gog and Magog: The Devil’s Descendants. He is also the author of a play, Code Name Daniel, which premiered at the American Theatre of Actors in New York City in July 2010. Because he holds a doctorate degree in biophysics, Dr. Pollock infuses his writing with knowledge of science. All three books represent his humble attempt to give back to the Creator for the gifts of Divine Providence that have been bestowed upon him.

The pristine city of Elysium floats on the water world of Shora, inhabited by ‘immortals’ who have succeeded in unlocking the secrets of life.
Outsider Blackbear Windclan wants to share the secret of immortality with his own people, but can he, and the City of Elysium, survive the corruption and decadence that immortality has bred into the ageless society.
And what of the consciousness of self-aware nano-sentient servitors and their quest for vengence?
Baird College’s Mendenhall echoes with the footsteps of the last home-bound students heading off for Thanksgiving break, and Robin Stone swears she can feel the creepy, hundred-year-old residence hall breathe a sigh of relief for its long-awaited solitude. Or perhaps it’s only gathering itself for the coming weekend.
As a massive storm dumps rain on the isolated campus, four other lonely students reveal themselves: Patrick, a handsome jock; Lisa, a manipulative tease; Cain, a brooding musician; and finally Martin, a scholarly eccentric. Each has forsaken a long weekend at home for their own secret reasons.
The five unlikely companions establish a tentative rapport, but they soon become aware of a sixth presence disturbing the ominous silence that pervades the building. Are they the victims of a simple college prank taken way too far, or is the unusual energy evidence of something genuine—and intent on using the five students for its own terrifying ends? It’s only Thursday afternoon, and they have three long days and dark nights before the rest of the world returns to find out what’s become of them. But for now it’s just the darkness keeping company with five students nobody wants and no one will miss.

Here’s Lynn:
I have been a book lover all my life. A little over two years ago, I began a book review blog, “Red Adept Reviews.” I focused on independently published (Indie) books because I loved having the opportunity to discover new talent. During my first year of reviewing Indie books, I was forced to give too many low ratings due to the poor editing of the books I reviewed. My frustration with that led me to start Red Adept Editing Service.
I am joined by a group of talented people who help me maintain excellent quality while I expand the services offered to writers. Every book edited by Red Adept Editing receives comprehensive editing and at least one complete proofread. We are proud to have edited over seventy Indie books, with many more to come.
Occasionally, we come across books that we simply can’t put down.
We recognize these books by branding them as “Red Adept Selects.”

How Do Private Eyes Do That? is a compilation of articles about private investigations written by Colleen Collins, a professional private investigator. Its topics are geared to readers interested in the world of PIs, including fiction writers, researchers, investigators and those simply curious about the profession.
A supplement to the book is a chapter from How to Write a Dick: A Guide to Writing Fictional Sleuths from a Couple of Real-Life Sleuths, co-authored by Colleen Collins and Shaun Kaufman. This chapter describes numerous specializations in the field of private investigations, including legal investigations, infidelity investigations, pet detection, insurance investigations, personal injury investigations, executive protection and more.
From the reviewers:
“If you’re looking for the lowdown on private investigations, this is it. Packed with details and insights. A must-have for anybody writing private-eye fiction and for anybody who’s curious about what being a private-eye is really like.” – Bill Crider, author of the Sheriff Dan Rhodes series and many other novels in multiple genres
“A must have for any writer serious about crafting authentic private eyes. Collins knows her stuff.” – Lori Wilde, New York Times and USA Today bestselling author
I’ve also checked out the other book (How to Write a Dick), and wanted to know how this author, a PI like myself, did writing about the field. Liked the book more than I thought I would. She outlines investigative techniques which are useful for the public without compromising the field itself. Writing style is smooth. I’ve read articles written by other private investigators which are tough to understand because the person rambles on and on…in this book, Collins sticks to the topic and explains things well. – “PI Guy”
Because I found the other nonfiction book by this author (which she co-wrote with Shaun Kaufman) “How to Write a Dick” great as a reference book for writing, I hoped “How Do Private Eyes Do That?” would be as helpful. It’s not a how to book in the strictest sense, but the articles provide lots of tips about private investigations (like finding someone’s cell phone number, researching a family trust, finding people — the kinds of things a writer might want their character to do in a story). There’s also a section of links to other helpful sites about private investigations. Two thumbs up! – DanaB
Just as washed-up criminal defense attorney, life-long Deadhead (nickname “The Zen Man”), and current PI Rick Levine decides to get relicensed as a lawyer, he’s charged with killing one and ends up in the slammer with a half-mil bail.
Released on bond, Rick and his girlfriend Laura have 30 days to find the real killer. In the course of their investigations, they dig for dirt among Denver’s shady legal backrooms to its tony corporate centers. Dodging bullets, a kidnapping, trumped-up charges and the FBI’s unwanted intervention, Rick and Laura continue tracking key suspects who have motive…eventually learning that true redemption begins at home.
From the reviewers:
“Move over Sam Spade, Nick and Nora; make room for a Denver who-dun-it, Colleen Collins’s The Zen Man. Brilliant and fast-paced writing. I couldn’t put it down.” — Donnell Ann Bell, Award-Winning Author of The Past Came Hunting
“Not only do the pages fly by with the action and plot twists, but the characters will keep you guessing their next move as well. I was thoroughly entertained and can’t wait to read the next installment of this fabulous gumshoe novel!” — Wendy Hines, Minding Spot book reviews
“I loved every single word of The Zen Man!” — Delores Fossen, USA Today Best-selling Author
“Rick and Laura are incredibly charming and likable…and the book’s mystery is well structured with clues and red herrings doled out steadily to move the plot along and keep things interesting… can’t wait for the return of The Zen Man.” –Book Reviews by Elizabeth A. White
“The Zen Man is an homage and update of Dashiell Hammett’s Nick and Nora Charles, a well-paced mix of banter, action, and New Age philosophizing.” — Gerald So, owner-moderator of DetecToday for fans of the private eye genre.
