Here’s the set-up:

An impossible victim, a more than impossible killer!

FBI Special Agent Ilona Farris has barely recovered from her first escapade with the newly formed Unsolvable Crimes Unit when a bizarre case lands on her desk.

A man has been chained to a sack of stones and pushed into the water at Seattle Marina. However, the victim supposedly died in a plane crash over twenty years ago.

Witnesses report seeing a man in a straw hat and long coat at the scene. There one moment, then disappearing without a trace.

Rumours begin that the figure is the legendary South American spirit of El Silbón, the Whistler, whose victims have an eerie tune played to them before meeting their demise.

Fearing this will not be the ghostly apparition’s last crime, Agent Farris resolves to discover the truth about Ven Air Flight 387 and catch a killer with nothing other than revenge on their mind.

But the Whistler is not the only ghost stalking in the shadows, and Farris will need all her wits to come out on top.

A Marine never says die.
Neither does his princess.
Battle lines are drawn when sheltered debutante Meridian Daly moves across the hall from grumpy veteran Marine Callan Brand. But with her sharp wit and killer curves, he can’t help but surrender to temptation…

When their relationship evolves from casual courtship to something more, Callan finds that Meridian’s already discovered his closely-guarded secret. But can he let go of his pride, and tell her the whole truth of who he is and what he’s done—in the name of honor and country?

As Callan’s scars start to reveal themselves, his life spirals beyond the careful control that’s helped him survive—and kept those he cares about safe.

From him.

But this tough-in-a-tiara princess won’t back down, even in Callan’s darkest hours. And Meridian just might prove to be more tenacious than a never-say-die Marine!

Both her son—and the Englishman who has stubbornly remained in her affections—find their lives turned upside down when they discover the secrets she has kept to herself.

Lord Robert Harding, third son of a marquess, fell in love with a shy Scottish lass. His dominating father had arranged a betrothal with a wealthy earl’s daughter. After fifteen years of silent longing for Annis, his wife dies, and he is free. Older, wiser, and now financially independent, he defies the marquess and heads to Glasgow.

Lies, secrets, and betrayal will challenge the fierce love of a steadfast Highlander and remorseful but determined Englishman. Will destiny find a way to bring two star-crossed souls together?

Here’s the set-up:

Can you find love while living on the ruthless Frontier? Follow four passionate romances as they try to find happiness in the dangerous untamed wild west.
Mathew Jenkins knows loneliness better than anyone. Jenny Philips needs to escape her domineering uncle who’s trying to sell her to the highest bidder.

A mail-order bride ad brings these two tortured souls together. Upon meeting the Virginia rose, Mathew falls hard and offers to help her get settled.

Although Jenny finds herself attracted to the kindhearted cattle farmer, she fears that a marriage amid deadly conflict between miners and natives could spoil their chance at happiness.

Can the couple survive a bumpy trail to love and begin a new life together?

Sheriff Jacob Benning dreams of only one thing: being a father. After placing a mail-order bride ad, an accident ruins his handwriting and with it, a chance to meet an educated lady.

He believes his dream of fatherhood is over.

But Rosa Casey, a woman battling anxiety and low self-esteem, finds the sheriff’s bad handwriting charming. For the first time in her life, she swallows her fears, packs her bags, and takes a leap into the unknown.

In the small Montana town, Jacob and Rosa begin to build a life. But dangers of the frontier lure at every corner, threatening to destroy a relationship that has just started to blossom.

Will Jacob and Rosa survive the dusty dangers to live happily ever after?

Dan Mavis, a schoolteacher in the small town of Bear Creek, Montana, believes the only way he’ll finally marry is if he mail-orders a wife. His elegant female colleague, Phoebe James, strongly disagrees.

After having her heart broken one too many times, Phoebe finds herself falling for a handsome educator, a man strikingly different from those who’ve previously courted her.

Just as Dan starts noticing the beautiful assistant and things start heating up between them, Dan’s advertisement reaches a woman keen to take up his offer.

Dan’s mail-order bride shows up at the worst moment, ready to break the starry-eyed couple apart.

Will this dramatic interruption ruin Dan and Phoebe’s best chance for a happily-ever-after?

When Edward James settled in Bear Creek to manage the mines, he didn’t plan on falling in love. Since the moment he met Morning Sun, his world has been turned upside down and he wants nothing more than to worship the Sioux beauty and be a devoted husband.

But the call of the tribe is strong.

Morning Sun loves Edward with all her heart, but her loyalty lies with her tribe.

Can she really ask Edward to give up his life to live with the Sioux? Does Edward love her enough to leave behind the life he built?

As doubts and fears plague the couple’s minds, the US military plans to banish the Sioux to a reservation, taking Morning Sun away from Edward forever.

If they run away together, they can save their love, but what will become of the tribe?

Can their love survive the harshest of tests?

In Bear Creek Brides: Books 1-4, you’ll find four exhilarating stories of how one brave act of venturing into the unknown can change your destiny.

A celebration of life and its many contradictions… The Love of Impossible Sums by Panayotis Cacoyannis

Here’s the set-up:
A celebration of life and its many contradictions, The Love of Impossible Sums is a contemporary London tale of interlocking love stories, sexual indiscretions and dysfunctional friendships. It explores the themes of love, loss, and the different ways people live their lives.

Oliver has lost his wife Eden to illness. Still grieving three years later, unable or unwilling to imagine a future without her, he finds himself stuck in a joyless existence. But everything appears to change when on a bright December morning a stranger asks him for a light and then invites him to “They Them”, a poetry reading event by “a poet like no other”. The stranger is Alex, or They, and a ventriloquist’s dummy is Them, representing her dead husband Sam in a performance they had planned to do together. ‘Life is love and death,’ They Them declare on stage.

Instantly drawn to each other by more than just their shared experience of loss, Oliver and Alex embark on a whirlwind romance. But tensions are being constantly stirred up by an ever-present cast of meddling characters, and as the strains of the present increase, the betrayals of a past full of lies and gratuitous disclosures soon begin to spill out and cause dangerous rifts…

“Cacoyannis writes very well on a small canvas. His previous works have had elements of satire, though it may be a stretch to see this latest as having such; these characters appear, at least, to be very serious as the author puts them through their paces—perhaps too serious. But maybe that is the point: They’re all navel gazers, well-meaning most of the time, but self-absorbed, nonetheless. They demonstrate a panoply of sexual variety, and bed-hopping is a recurring motif, with so-and-so being unfaithful with what’s-his/her-name with abandon. But to offset this, they all seem to be compulsive confessors; in fact, transgression followed by confession is shown to be a social tactic among this group, a strategy for leverage… Still, readers will come to like Ollie and care about the outcome of his new love with Alex, which holds real promise…

A rather strange but skillfully written study of a group of friends doing their best to get by.” Kirkus Reviews

“a literary gem that contains all the suspense of a good thriller” Casey Dorman’s Writer’s Blog
