The stories and insights in this book help me feel like I'm not the only person who struggles with motivation and deciding what I want from and for my body. Lisa makes it clear that with age, it doesn't have to be harder to keep in shape and at a healthy weight. I never struggled with my weight, even after gaining a "generous" amount of weight in both of my pregnancies. My routines always helped me bounce back to pre-pregnancy weight. However, in my early 40s, I had a series of challenges which impacted both my health and my weight, and I put on 15 pounds in one month (inflammation!) After getting a proper diagnosis (FINALLY!) I am working with my practitioner to recapture my health and vitality, and this book is a delightful complement to that. I just finished reading it, but have already started to map out my thoughts and desires to make sure I get - and stay - on track with my revised health and wellness plan.

Lisa is helping me remember that I need to slow down in order to speed up. Get clear, take the time to discover the *real* reasons I want to look and feel a certain way, and to make the path forward simpler and easier to navigate, identifying roadblocks and ways to work around them.

Some of the things Lisa suggests I've been doing on my journey back to health, and I'm here to say they work: intermittent fasting, gluten-free eating (and to be clear: GF cookies are still processed food, eh!) and morning routine. What was missing for me for a while was regular exercise because I had so much pain and lack of energy. NOW, I realize that I can do something every day, and I'll feel better. When we feel better, we make better choices.

I could go on and on, but will end with this: this book will help you get clear about what you want and WHY you want it, and map out simple, yet easy-to-follow, holistic program to not only ditching the last (however many) pounds, but also shedding the weight of life that has been holding you back from reaching other goals. Watch the spillover into other areas in your life where you've been setting goals. I've only been upping my game for a couple of weeks, and while I decided not to weigh myself for 30 days, I am getting compliments, my energy and mind are clearer, and I can exercise with heavier weights and short bursts of running, which I've not been able to do for 3 years. I'm celebrating this, and enjoying the journey back to wellness and vitality. Get this book! You'll be glad you did. Take control like a BOSS!

Lisa comes across as a real person who had real struggles that she was able to overcome. She talks about all the stumbling blocks that prevented her from being her best self and how she turned it all around by addressing the reasons and arming herself with the knowledge to break the cycle to maintain the weight loss. I didn't even realize I was unconsciously doing a lot of these same things and how they held me back. Like Lisa, I never had a major weight problem, but to me, every pound matters, yet every week I seemed to find myself at ground zero. Just by following her steps I am seeing results and they have lasted way beyond that. Even though it's only been a month, I can say with confidence that it will continue because now she has shared the secret! It's so simple, and yet it's not. Because if it were, we'd all be thin!

I am always cautious when I see another weight loss book hit the shelves on Amazon as it feels all topics and advice have been discussed or analyzed ad infinitum. However, Lisa G's book, The Boss Weight Loss, simplifies things for busy individuals so they can jump right in and see results. The six steps she details (I won't ruin the book by going into too much detail here) are practical and realistic.

If you are ready to have an accountability partner, then I strongly suggest reading this book and reaching out to Lisa G directly to see if she can walk with you in your journey towards health and wellness. What do you have to lose - other than unnecessary and unhealthy pounds, low self-esteem, etc.? As she says, "life is meant to be enjoyed." Let Lisa G help you start living again. You will be glad you did.

This is an excellent book for anyone who is willing to go deeper than diets and exercise. I especially liked chapter two where Goldenthal talks about motivation and offers tools and exercises to go five levels deeper, connect to your motivations and perhaps why you are stuck in a place you don’t want to be. I went out in the world and “Leaned In,” but I had been neglecting my own health at the expense of my career and my family. This is the new “Lean In” for your home life/routine – my new bible to better health ! I recommend it to anyone who is ready to make lasting changes and finally look and feel good at any age. Reading this book can help you achieve a pathway to success and to better health. Join the journey with Lisa.

I am a busy working mom who never had time to investigate what intermittent fasting was, but Lisa broke it down so simply in her book. I was also resistant to going gluten free (I love my muffins! But not my love handles!) but I have to say the combination of going gluten free and doing intermittent fasting has worked for me like nothing I have ever tried before. This book is simple and effective, and Lisa G. is definitely inspirational. An excellent diet and lifestyle resource!

Lisa keeps me inspired - and she has successfully translated that inspiration to her book! Lisa gives solid advice and she knows what she is talking about! She follows her own plan and she is in amazing shape! Read this book and listen to Lisa - you WILL live a healthier, happier life, have a better outlook, tone up and lose the weight you need to!!!

Not worth the time and I mean to read through it as all I got from it was other people's opinions of this awesome lady helping them lose weight.... not what I expected or wanted.

Thank you to Lisa for taking the time and having the patience to simplify the process of understanding our bodies and what longevity means. This book really takes you back to the basics and eliminates all of the usual fillers you find in diet books, exercise books and health books.
