Goodness what a great story. I loved getting to know Alyson and Vlad in book 1. And seeing the friendship grow with Mara and Stella. Book 2 gave us a few crazy twists and a lot more background on Vlad. There was also a lot of growth in the relationship between Alyson and Vlad, they are still fighting their feelings but are beginning to realize the truth there too. Book 3 was my favorite! The friendships are cemented and the relationship between Alyson and Vlad is explosive. The final battle has you on the edge of your seat. Alyson and Vlad are a the perfect team, but that doesn't mean it's easy. Sooo so good! I loved reading this series.

each story ended abruptly without closure. I will give it a 4.5 stars since it was both richly complex and also had a twist and 2 species of paranormal, usually as enemies, slowly fell in love. It was fresh and engaging without the sex scenes that so many romances seem to depend upon.
I will be looking into other books by this author.
