I loved the idea for this one and after reading the synopsis and loving that cover I was in like Flynn. Lucy is a young woman who has been in college since the age of 13. She's a genius. And in order to get a study grant she has to be able to understand human emotion. The only problem is, she's horrible with people. Saying whatever is on her mind the moment it reaches her tongue causes her a lot of grief and makes the professor in charge think she can't handle this assignment. He gives her some time off in order to figure out how to relate to emotions and how to prove they can be transferred between people by osmosis. With the help of an unlikely friend she sets out to seduce the campus' most sought after hottie and neighbor Jensen, but it's not as easy as you'd think.
The characters in this book were all FABULOUS! Lucy is not your typical heroine. She's clueless on how to relate to anyone, especially her family. The outcast of her brood, Lucy was more interested in dissecting frogs than dressing up as a young girl and is one of the smartest heroine's I've encountered in a book. That in itself was absolutely refreshing to come across and I loved her instantly. She had me at her first interaction with Freya. Her unknowing wit and quirky personality just added to my love for her. Lucy knew what she wanted and stopped at nothing to get it, even if she came across as strange at first. Just watching her interact with people for the first time was comical. I found myself falling in love with her little by little and it was effortless. Jensen wasn't the typical NA hero either. Most of them are usually slutty douche-bags who have their share of women and only settle down when the heroine tames him. (Like that's accurate) *eye roll* But not Jensen. He was amazing. Kind, thoughtful, very sweet and absolutely sexy. He's had his heart broken by his best friend and girlfriend so he isn't looking to trust anyone again until Lucy's brand of truth leaves him speechless. Literally! He doesn't know how to take Lucy at first which only adds to the humor of the story. Jensen turned out to be the kind of guy that is my kryptonite. What I have come to expect from typical NA heroes, Jensen was on the complete opposite side of the spectrum. I nearly died when I found out what he was hiding. This little tidbit about him made his character stand out and SHINE for me and I freaking ADORE him!
Secondary characters can make or break a story in most cases and in this one they totally MADE IT! Freya, Bethany and resident gay Ted were all additions to the landscape I couldn't live without. Freya becomes the best friend you'd never suspect after Lucy sends her from a therapy session crying after a blunt statement about her breakup. Freya has one of the coolest names EVER (Hello, Vikings anyone?) she's also snarky, sarcastic and witty. Which are all things I need in life so I could definitely put myself in her shoes. There was enough about her for me to look forward to her story with butterflies in my stomach! (Come on payday!) Bethany and Ted are Freya's tag-alongs but they are extra comic relief added in that balance out Lucy's eccentricities perfectly. This group of rag-tag people manage to come together in the most unassuming way but form a friendship that melted my heart to pieces. I consider myself a woman who knows funny when I come across it, so when an author tries too hard to make their book funny it's something I pick up on very quickly and just as quickly it loses me if the jokes feel forced and stilted. Frame does an EXCELLENT job of adding in humor in all the right moments that never felt out of place and always hit the desired mark for me. It's always a good thing when you can imagine a book to flow how it would in reality and she captured that here.
"Imperfect Chemistry" was, in a word...PERFECT. I haven't been able to stop thinking about it since I put it down and laughing about certain things that happened in the story. A great unlikely romance and real, honest characters made a wonderful combination that will have me coming back to this book years from now. It's a book that was so unforgettable it will go on my beloved bookshelf and stay in the forefront of my mind for a long time. If you're looking for something that will make you laugh, with mild angst and unforgettable characters then you need to read "Imperfect Chemistry" right away. It will definitely brighten your day.
Imperfect Chemistry was a really cute read. Lucy and Jensen are perfect for each other and so much fun to read.
Lucy is the kind of character I love. She is this super smart, socially awkward girl who is trying to study emotions. She has a grant to do so and everything. The only issue? She has never really understood other people and emotions so she is not the best with them. She has been working in the clinic trying to help people with their problems, but oh she is not good at it. You see her talking to Freya in the beginning about Freya's boyfriend who cheated on her and Lucy is just so matter of fact about everything. Not really what you want to hear in that kind of situation, but Lucy doesn't know any better. She thinks she is helping by being so blunt and honest but the people she is counselling don't really like it. So she is forced to take leave and try to figure out what she is going to do. She needs to try and experience emotions so she can figure out what and how exactly she will study them.
This is where Jensen comes in. Lucy needs to experience emotions, to study them, so she tries to enlist Jensen to help her out. Oh this was so much fun to read. Lucy doesn't understand why her straightforward way of speaking and going about things put some people off. Really she just asks him if he will help her, just talking, and it is just so shocking he immediately says no. He starts to change his mind as they start to be friendly and he gets used to Lucy and her awkward ways. They were so cute together!
Through all of this Lucy learns to be more "normal" and she makes some good friends. I just loved her to pieces. They way she goes about everything, always so honest and open and straight forward with everyone, was just fun to read. I love characters like her. By the end she is still herself, but just tweaked a little bitt. I loved her.
Jensen was really sweet as well. He gets closer to Lucy and you can see how much he cares for her. He has some family issues, his dad wanting to dictate his life for him, and that causes some problems, but Lucy tries to help him when she can. It was just such a fun, sweet read. I look forward to reading more from this author.

The good things where you read a book with no expectation and give you all the satisfaction
Where h have her own uniqueness, daring , smart , strong dignity - empowering to all women around her that’s a quality that we hardly find both in real life and book this day where lots of author think is cool to name calling other females characters just because she is the other women or for many other silly reasons
This books breaks all the generic scene , theme or plot at many others books, this served you a H which a virgin - how delicate our h handle this issued , she also doesn’t barks on of how well endowed H on their first yet mentioning it’s fine as her ex were well endowed not a smart moved but I lough my self out due to her free honesty like no filter , in all words I’m in love with Lucy the heroine, I’m absolutely will reads the next book on this series

Now let's move to Jensen. The poor guy has gone through a lot, he's wounded, scared and has shut down. But the quirkiness of his neighbour will cut through his armour and give life back to him!
Lucy and Jensen are just to die for, do not let them go!!
