4.6 4.6 out of 5 stars 4,009 ratings

Airman Connor O'Riley never believed in love until he saw proof of it in the most unlikely place - a battlefield in the middle of the Syrian civil war. Now he's in hot water with the Air Force, and if he wants to clear his name he'll have to put his new-found belief in love to the test-by convincing his superior officer's daughter to marry him.

Sadie Reed is done with love. Her poor choices nearly got her sisters killed when she fell for a man entrenched in the drug trade. She's ready to leave Chance Creek - just as soon as her sister returns from her honeymoon. So when a handsome airman shows up at Two Willows, with orders from her father to help Sadie build a legacy project, she gives Connor one month to get it done.

Connor never thought he'd fall for Sadie, but when he learns she means to leave, he knows far more than his mission - and his future - is at stake. Can he convince her to stay?

Or will love remain out of his reach for good?

Contains mature themes.

A really good story, lots of action, romance, mystery, humor, heartache, the whole package. The Two Willows ranch is run by several sisters whose father, a General in the military, pretty much controls from afar. He manages to send, one by one, service men who are under his command due to "infractions" they have committed, to reach out and connect with, fall in love with and marry, each daughter! This is supposed to help the sisters run the ranch and make it prosper for them. It's a strange set up for sure, but when you read the story it tends to make sense and work. There are mystical things going on with the sisters which makes for a really sweet read. Is it a little "out there"? Sure it is, but it does make for a fun and exciting story. The personalities and characters are very well done by this author, you can almost believe that it all could happen. This is the second story in this series that I have read and I will be looking for the rest of the series for sure. It's fun, some really good laugh out loud moments, some tender and tear jerk moments too. I have to agree with other reviewers that like this series and will know the rest of the stories will be well worth the reading. To take, basically, the same characters, the same plot, several times over and still make each read different somehow and hold your attention, actually pull you into what is going on, well, that takes a bit of doing. This author does it well and makes you feel like you belong right there at Two Willows with the rest of them. I'll recommend this to all and will enjoy reading each story more than once. Oh, so far the stories seem to be relatively easy on the sexual content. There is some, of course, but not overdone, not extremely graphic, but just enough to give a little spice. A standalone with a HEA.

It's an interesting series. The basis for the plot is the same. Dad (General) sends a guy to the ranch to marry one of his daughters. That daughter has been burned by men and the guy sent has to figure out how to get her to fall in love with him. So that's the same - but the story around it is different. It is interesting to read. And Cora is a good author and more than likely has a good editor as the writing flows well. Enjoyable for sure.

Like the books in the Heroes series, the Cowboy series and the Seals series, this book is set in fictitious Chance City, Montana. They all investigate the subject of marriages contracted because of pressure from third parties who want to see the main characters settled down. Even though the relationships start between unwilling participants, in the end they prove to bring happiness and fulfilment to everyone involved. Little by little, with each book, a community is built, out of memorable, interesting characters, who reappear, time and again in all books. We reach the moment when we, as readers, know who is going to organize the latest wedding, who is going to perform the wedding ceremony, who is going to provide the bridal gown etc., Who is to be trusted and who is not. The characters are not superficial, there is good and bad in them, as it is in real life, and they grow and develop, which makes them interesting. Of course, there is a dose of predictability. We know from the beginning who is going to end up with whom, but how this is achieved is unexpected, and the characters fall in love, while dealing with and healing their wounds from the past, which gives them depth. I look forward to the next book. The Seals series and the Brides series have not been completed yet. I thoroughly recommend these books to anyone interested in spending some relaxing hours in a world of a closely knit fictitious community one wishes it were real and available.

There's always been something Two Willows, the ranch the daughters of General Augustus Reed live on, the one he owns and won't turn over to them until they've proven themselves worthy. What they don't realize is that he has a plan to marry them off to men from his USSOCOM unit, thereby giving them not only the love each of them needs, but allowing the men and women to prove themselves worthy to own and run the ranch.

Sadie and Connor's book is a mix of old world charm and new world danger. His broken family comes from Ireland, so when he learns of the special things that happen on this land, he isn't as skeptical as others might be. He's lived among people, including his own family members, who believe in the magic the land can hold. Sadie has always had a special connection to the land that no one else knows about. Inheriting the ability from her mother, she' been able to communicate with the land, know what the plants need to thrive. But since the trouble with the drug dealers, in Cass and Brian's book, which was the first in the series, she has trouble communicating with the land. Then along come Connor who seems to help give her back that special connection with the ranch she's always had. Of course, things are not always that easy, and the danger is never really over.

I love this Issued to the Bride series. The women are all "self sufficient," and the men have all done something that gets them into trouble and thrown into the General's unit. But neither the men nor the women on the ranch know the task that the General has been given or where the direction for his match making meddling has come from. They're not only sweet love stories that begin with the first meeting and are filled with adventure and enlightenment, but there's and element of charm and magic that wakes each couple to the possibilities along with an underlying danger and intrigue that give us just enough edge or our seats excitement. And no one tells it like Ms Seton. She gives us a taste of a life that makes each of us wish we could live there and be a part of the Chance Creek community. The end of each book has us impatiently waiting for the next.

Loved this from the very first page to the last. A quick and easy read. I read it during very bleak times (personal) and this always had a fun and uplifting Spirit that had me forgetting my own dark world for a Little while. Big thumbs up!

You can'r get better than a Cora Seton novel. I "discovered" her about two years ago and have now read all her books that are available to us here in the UK [please try and let us have access to ALL your books please?] I want to live in Chance Creek. It's lovely the way I really feel as if I actually have met the different characters in the area from Ethan all the way to Connor in this book.
Excellent storyline and fun as well as interesting people in it. I love the quirky characters too! A Happy Ever After that we will hear about,
no doubt, in the next books in the series which I enjoy to see how their HEAs live out :)

Well now a little bit of Irish just landed in Chance Creek let's see if Connor O'Reilly has enough magic in him to win Sadie's heart forever.

I am so loving the Reed sister's, the General may not have been with them much but his daughter's have all grown into tough, independent women who are willful and stubborn as hell and now the General has picked a husband for each of them and these guys are even more stubborn and willful than the sisters and sexy as all get out, first Cass falls for Brian and Now Sadie and Connor if the luck of the Irish is with Connor....lol
I loved how the sisters find trouble without even trying and I love how they generally save themselves before the guys can ride to the rescue.

I love all the stories out of Chance Creek but I especially love all the Reed sisters they are true Montana women born bred and loving their land and their men.
