First, about this series, each book is like revisiting old friends & you walk along with them, rekindling that love built over time. Sadness & happiness mingles together as you bring all the memories of the past & you know with each visit in this series, you'll be making new memories as well as new friends.
"Westward Secrets" Book #13 is about Rick Westlake & Gina Silvetti. I particularly loved the addition of the cute little ferret, Curtis. It was so unique & made the story much more loveable. Rick really had a terrible childhood & his mother was a real witch. Hard to believe that anyone could treat their own child that way. It was comforting to find Randall, Joe Dwyer's butler, the one to solve Rick's dilemma.
"Westward Changes" Book #1 is about Eddie Baxter who works for Joe Dwyer & Deena Abbott. It was also a very good story of finding love in an unexpected way. In this offering Joe Dwyer's most feared event happened...the new Lakota camp is discovered.
"Westward Heartbeat" Book #15 is about Raven, a Lakota brave & Zoe Fontaine. Zoe originally answered the ad for a mail-order bride by Will Foster. Immediately both knew that there was no "spark" between them. Fortunately they were smart enough to not pursue a romance that was destined to go nowhere.
I was really surprised that Zoe & Raven were able to overcome all of the obstacles thrown at them & finally find their "happily ever after."
All three in this part of the series are way above a five star review & I would find it hard to choose between the three. They are, in my opinion, the best of this series so far.
So, I'm on to the next one & I know it will again unite me with all my Dawson, Montana friends.
I highly recommend this series. It so good & really hard to put down & once you start the first book you're hooked.

I’m hooked on the Montana. Mail Order Bride Westward Series. Each story is connected to the other characters who live and love in the Dawson area. Linda Bridey has a true fan in me. I admire how she develops her characters and weaves her stories. It is a delightful experience to watch the development of a society where the white and Indian cultures actively support each other. Seeing how they accept each other’s cultures and have no prejudice against each other in any way is eye opening. How different the world would be if this would truly happen. However, it is not universal , even in these addicting stories. The problems and hardships are mostly caused by the people who are bitter and judgmental against Indians or Whites.

I am enjoying this series. I am reading #19 now and have all 23 books. I like the characters and the plots. I pretty much know how the book is going to proceed (characters meet; fall in love; fall out with each other; get back together). However, I am reading this series just to enjoy the read. I am not planning to change the world from these books or expect any deep thinking. I just want to read for the fun of it. This series is just perfect for that. I love to see how the characters change over time and how the children grow up to become "real people".

I have laughed and cried along with the characters and have enjoyed the twist and turns in the plot.

I think the only complaint I would have is that there are a lot of typographical errors in the books. I am sorry, but I am a former English teacher and these kind of mistakes just jump out at me. In one book, the character's name was spelled wrong (Janine to Janice). However, I think enough of the books to have ordered the entire series and think that they are well worth the read.

Let me start by saying romance is not my normal genre of preference. I got the first book free and honestly, I was expecting cheesy romance, but I couldn't have been more wrong! I fell in love with the powerfully written stories, the beautiful descriptions of life, love and Spirit in a bygone era. These weren't flat, shallow characters; they were real, honest, and quickly became beloved. Linda's writing is exquisite, I especially was moved by the accuracy, respect, and reverence she gives to the Lakota people and the richness of their culture. I now just purchased book 16 and cannot wait to read what comes next! Do not hesitate to grab these books, you will be enchanted! Let me also say, these are not romances written by a prude, they exude passion and heat, but leave the particulars to the reader's imagination, which I find much steamier :)

I love this book and the series by Linda Bridey. Taking a trip West and learning of the days when native American tribes were free to roam and the days of mail order brides. I laughed and cried as the characters evolve in this series of boxed sets. Make sure to read in order (it helps!). Ignore the typos and enjoy!

I like the book because it was full of excitement and loved the ending was too predictable. Can't wait to start on the next set.

I love this series and all of the characters and storylines. I also really enjoy some of the historical accuracy in regards to Native Americans, especially the trials they faced on reservations and in the forts. Looking forward to reading the next boxed set.

I always love this author, her writing is engaging and emotional. I love the stories of the next generation, the stories of the degradation of the Indians just broke my heart, but the ones that were smart rose from the ashes and brought their families with them.

Another remarkable stories. I cannot put them down until I've finished. Then I have to start the next in the series so I can remember who everyone is. I feel I know the characters well. Such a gift at writing.
