This book was written in a professional manner with wonderful, well developed characters. The story maintained connection even while drifting between timelines. There were unexpected revelations and surprises through to the end! I loved it!

I’m not good at book reviews, however it was interesting how the past wove together with the future. The long lasting effects of parental sexual abuse years before people did anything about. Many more subjects touched on too numerous to go into.

I really enjoyed reading this book because even the "villainous" characters were explained sympathetically. The book had a bit of everything: a little realistic history of New Haven, a little romance, and an intriguing mystery. The main, modern day character was a nice mix of likable and slightly flawed, and the relationship between her and her mother was particularly nice (you don't usually see mothers and daughters getting along and supporting each other in novels). There was only one small plot point that didn't work for me (the explanation of a long absence of one of the supporting characters), but otherwise I finished this book very satisfied, and also still thinking about the characters and events in the stories.

I loved it! The author has a wonder way of describing the characters and the setting so that you feel a part of the story. It was an easy read but complex. It was a love story, a mystery, historical fiction and an overall good read.

I really loved this book. The different timelines kept it interesting.
Good discriptions. Charles's daughter was spoiled. Mean till the day she died.

A good mystery with great plot twists! You could read it in one sitting be satisfied with what felt like an unbelievable real-life ending. Only one editing mistake that made me go back to see if I had gotten lost, but just a name mistake when Dorothy (Beverly! ) meets an important character.

This interesting story took lots of twists and turns. The characters are believable and you are immediately are drawn into their stories. Being from New Haven it was fun to try to place the local history and locations.
