Forged masterpieces. Hidden messages. A desperate swan song.

When world-renowned nonverbal communication expert Doctor Genevieve Lenard wakes up in an unknown location, drugged and kidnapped, it pushes the limits of her autism coping skills.

For the last year, Russian philanthropist and psychopath Tomasz Kubanov has been studying Genevieve just as she and her team have been studying him. Now forged paintings and mysterious murders are surfacing around her team, with evidence pointing to one of them as the killer.

Genevieve knows Kubanov is behind these senseless acts of violence. What she doesn’t understand are the inconsistencies between his actions and the cryptic messages he sends. Something has triggered his unpredictable behaviour, something that might result in many more deaths, including those she cares for.

Because this time, Kubanov has nothing to lose.

One Reviewer Notes:
Thank you so much for buying or considering The Gauguin Connection. Writing it was a huge adventure. Not only did I learn a lot of interesting things (including bore lapping - Vinnie, one of the characters, will tell you all about it), but I also was lucky enough to combine all my passions in one book. My interest in international politics, music, art, psychology, criminal psychology, nonverbal communication and all things conspiratorial flowed together in Genevieve's life.

One Reviewer Notes:
The plot is more complex than most thrillers, but white-collar crime often can be, which is why I love this type of book. The Gaugin Connection is so well written that the many threads and angles can be followed. Genevieve is a fascinating character and while she might seem cold and aloof at first, she becomes quite endearing. Manny, Colin, Phillip, and Colin's sidekick Vinnie are equally interesting.

Besides the sensational title this is a well written, compelling book with a hard edge. You see, Dee Dee is the woman who lived inside the young boy Denny. Sound confusing? It was well written, drove me to read TOO late into the night and, clearly, was well researched.

Here's the set-up:
Murdered artists. Masterful forgeries. Art crime at its worst.

As an insurance investigator and world renowned expert in nonverbal communication, Dr Genevieve Lenard faces the daily challenge of living a successful, independent life. Particularly because she has to deal with her high functioning Autism. Nothing - not her studies, her high IQ or her astounding analytical skills - prepared her for the changes about to take place in her life.

It started as a favour to help her boss' acerbic friend look into the murder of a young artist, but soon it proves to be far more complex. Forced out of her predictable routines, safe environment and limited social interaction, Genevieve is thrown into exploring the meaning of friendship, expanding her social definitions, and for the first time in her life be part of a team in a race to stop more artists from being murdered.
One Reviewer Notes:
The plot is a good, with numerous misdirections and seemingly unrelated details. The characters are well developed and have depth; especially Genevive. I imagine it's challenging to create a character such as Genevive, who isn't always sympathetic with her blunt approach and unusual needs, but Estelle Ryan makes us believe in Genevive.
