Ever Wonder What Would Happen If Your Girl Disappeared ?

Karen Glass, an American high school graduate, is visiting a Kibbutz in Northern Israel. She meets Mikki who lives in the Kibbutz and they become passionately involved. On her birthday, while they are on a tour of the Golan Heights, she suddenly disappears from Mikki's car.

The police official investigation is abandoned under questionable circumstances; the motive for the presumed kidnapping is unknown and Karen's fate remains a mystery.

Three years later, during an Israeli military raid into Southern Lebanon, a special-forces unit stumbles upon a photo of Karen at the time of her kidnapping. Mikki alerts Karen's sister Lisa, and together they begin a perilous journey across three continents searching for clues that will shed light on the mystery.

They uncover a dark family secret that undermines a plot to prevent a global enterprise from developing illegal weapons....

"DISAPPEARANCE" will capture you instantly, keep you on your toes and leave you speculating until the final minute.....
One Reviewer Notes:
A perfect combination of suspense, action and romance. Kaplan's attempt to illustrate his characters' reality allows the reader to join them on crowded streets, long stakeouts and feel the dread they feel in certain situations. It turns the experience more realistic, such that thriller novel lovers like to read. Disappearance is a good book; actually it is very good...

Here's the set-up:
Sam Baker begins to embrace family life with his loving wife and baby son when an act of extreme violence leaves him destitute - his wife murdered and his son kidnapped. His life turns to tracking – tracking any clues, any traces of his child while forming an international organization that tracks other missing children - the flesh trade, divorce disputes, and child slavery are all under his remit. The tracks they follow take Sam and his team across the globe but it is deep in the Sinai Desert, amongst immortal granite cliffs and The Gulf’s breathtaking shades, that he encounters his greatest fears. Hate, corruption, and greed threaten his organization and he turns to a secret outfit for help. The alliance brings results but when a horrible scheme to use children to spread terror is revealed, the tracks lead to an inevitably lethal confrontation with a merciless terrorist group. This is a tale of modern terrorism, international intrigue, diplomacy, and sacrifice, all in hopes of finding one small boy. Will Sam find his son?
One Reviewer Notes:
This is not lite reading. The subject matter deals with difficult and often violent situations and troubling issues that are hard to read through; but only because they're so d...mn believable! The opening alone is in your face sexual violence that ends tragically - I almost had to stop reading; but if you can get through the initial shock - you're in for one heck of a thriller that will keep you on the edge of your seat; most likely all night because you can't put it down! ... In short - this is a brilliantly written book; and if you love mystery and intrigue - [and don't mind violent situations] then you won't be able to put it down until you've reached the last page. Guaranteed!
