Here’s the set-up:

Vampyres don’t exist. They absolutely do not exist.

At least I didn’t think they did ‘til I tried to quit smoking and ended up Undead. Who in the hell did I screw over in a former life that my getting healthy equates with dead?

Now I’m a Vampyre. Yes, we exist whether we want to or not. However, I have to admit, the perks aren’t bad. My girls no longer jiggle, my ass is higher than a kite and the latest Prada keeps finding its way to my wardrobe. On the downside, I’m stuck with an obscenely profane Guardian Angel who looks like Oprah and a Fairy Fighting Coach who’s teaching me to annihilate like the Terminator.

To complicate matters, my libido has increased to Vampyric proportions and my attraction to a hotter than Satan’s underpants killer rogue Vampyre is not only dangerous . . . it’s possibly deadly. For real dead. Permanent death isn’t on my agenda. Avoiding him is my only option. Of course, since he thinks I’m his, it’s easier said than done. Like THAT’S not enough to deal with, all the other Vampyres think I’m some sort of Chosen One.

Holy Hell, if I’m in charge of saving an entire race of blood suckers, the Undead are in for one hell of a ride.

Everyday Price: $3.99

Here’s the set-up:

Released from the magic pokey and paroled with limited power is enough to make any witch grumpy. However, if you throw in a recently resurrected cat, a lime-green Kia and a sexy egotistical werewolf, it’s enough to make a gal fly off the edge.

Not to mention a mission…with no freaking directions.

So here I sit in Asscrack, West Virginia trying to figure out how to complete my mysterious mission before All Hallows Eve when I’ll get turned into a mortal. The animals in the area are convinced I’m the Shifter Whisperer (whatever the hell that is) and the hotter-than- asphalt-in-August werewolf thinks I’m his mate. Now apparently I’m slated to save a bunch of hairy freaks of nature?

If they think I’m the right witch for the job, they’ve swallowed some bad brew.

Enchanting story of a witch who is less than perfect. She is materialistic and selfish. After spending some time in the magical jail, she is sent to find who killed her aunt. What she finds floors her, and she wants no part of it, including the hot guy who insists she is his mate. When all is said and done will she find what she has always been looking for or walk away? A Dangerous Bargain (The Sentinel Demons Book 1)

by J. S. Scott
4.4 stars – 159 reviews
Text-to-Speech and Lending: Enabled
Here’s the set-up:

The first book In The Sentinel Demon Series, a paranormal romance by NY Times and USA Today bestselling author J.S. Scott.

27 year old Kat Larson is haunted by demons. Literally. And how was she to know that there was more than one type of demon? The Evils want to destroy her soul, while billionaire Sentinel demon, Zachary Winston, claims that he wants to protect her. Kat opts for Zach’s protection…but it doesn’t come without a price. It requires a demon bargain…and what he suggests surprises poor Kat almost as much as the fact that demons really do exist. Why would the handsome billionaire want to make such an agreement with a curvy, plain redheaded woman like her?

Billionaire Zachary Winston has a mission and it’s one that he vows to complete. As a Sentinel demon, his task is to protect Kat from the Evils that will corrupt her soul. His only problem is that she is his “radiant,” the one woman who can lighten the darkness of his demon existence and be his eternal mate. Zach has to fight an internal war between man and demon as he protects Kat, not quite sure which one will win. He’s one part demon, one part man, but they both yearn for Kat’s lush, full figured body and kind, compassionate heart. As Zach becomes more and more enchanted with Kat, he’s hoping she can learn to love a lonely man/demon that’s only slightly wicked.

This paranormal romance contains graphic language, steamy love scenes, and lovable alpha males that also happen to be mythological demons.

SECRET LIFE OF A JUROR: Voir Dire: The Domestic Violence Query (A Juror’s Perspective Book 4)

by Paul Sanders
5.0 stars – 6 reviews
Text-to-Speech and Lending: Enabled
Here’s the set-up:

On January 23, 2014, the author reported for jury duty without taking notice to the media vehicles lined in front of the courthouse. He checked in unaware that 1200 others were also being counted as potential jurors. He did not know when he walked into the courtroom that the case of premeditated murder would change his life. It would seem that the most important question of the day, as asked to every potential juror, was whether he could, if the circumstances were correct and the law dictated as such, apply the death penalty to the defendant?

The most critical question, however, came during the written questioning process of voir dire, a tool for the court to determine whether a potential juror would be a final decision maker. The question was simple: had he ever experienced domestic violence as an adult or juvenile?

The answer would force the juror to face a past painted with child abuse and a future framed by shame. He had to confront the demons that would eventually impact his decision of whether the defendant should live or die.

Award winning author and former death penalty juror, Paul Sanders, does it again in his juror’s perspective series that began with the best-seller, ‘Brain Damage: A Juror’s Tale’, continued with ‘Why Not Kill Her: A Juror’s Perspective’ and riveted readers with ‘Banquet of Consequences: A Juror’s Plight’. ‘Secret Life of a Juror: Voir Dire’ is not as much about an infamous killer but about the sacrifices and truths a juror must confront before deciding the fate of another.
