In the frozen wastes of Antarctica the Lance, an ancient weapon of unthinkable power--
once lost and legendary--has been recovered. In the terrorized streets of Jerusalem,
devastation is unleashed upon the eve of  international peace.

In the halls of power of Washington, D.C. a desperate plot set in motion during the
final days of World War II has begun to unfold. Now Nick Carter and his team of
deep black operatives from the PROJECT must race against time to prevent the next
World War...but first they must first stop those who already wield the Lance...
One Reviewer Notes:
Another great thriller by Alex Lukeman. Hard to beat his first thriller, White Jade, but he does. Another book that is researched and meticulously written. Uses and descriptions of weapons and tactics are real and as a combat Infantryman I can attest to the use and description of all the weapons listed in the book The Lance. Awaiting his next book and wondering if It is going to be as great as the first two. A must read if you like thrillers. You won't be able to put it down.

About the Author
I I've been writing since I was twelve. I've done a lot of traveling and been in a lot of strange situations. I was in the Marines and spent years on the road as a professional folk singer. You could say that I bring a varied life experience to my writing. I live in Northern California in the foothills of the Sierra Mountains. I like riding old, fast motorcycles, sipping Barbados rum and playing guitar, usually not at the same time. I write action/adventure thrillers. WHITE JADE is the first in a series featuring the PROJECT, a covert, small intelligence unit reporting only to the President. THE LANCE is second in the series, the third is THE SEVENTH PILLAR. BLACK HARVEST is Book Four. Book Five, THE TESLA SECRET, is now available. Book Six will come out sometime in 2013, probably about mid-year. Video trailers are fun and you can see mine on this page. If you have difficulty loading the video trailer for White jade, here's the YouTube link: http://youtu.be/4TfTMEoXWBY For more, please visit my blog at http://www.alexlukeman.blogspot.com or my website at www.alexlukeman.com.

Or check out the Audible.com version of The Perfect Mile: Three Athletes, One Goal, and Less Than Four Minutes to Achieve It
in its Audible Audio Edition, Unabridged!
Here’s the set-up:

There was a time when running the mile in four minutes was believed to be beyond the limits of human foot speed, and in all of sport it was the elusive holy grail. In 1952, after suffering defeat at the Helsinki Olympics, three world-class runners each set out to break this barrier. Roger Bannister was a young English medical student who epitomized the ideal of the amateur — still driven not just by winning but by the nobility of the pursuit. John Landy was the privileged son of a genteel Australian family, who as a boy preferred butterfly collecting to running but who trained relentlessly in an almost spiritual attempt to shape his body to this singular task. Then there was Wes Santee, the swaggering American, a Kansas farm boy and natural athlete who believed he was just plain better than everybody else.
