Thanks for your interest in Kindle Nation!

Email. Hi, I’m Steve Windwalker, publisher, editor, reporter, and chief bottle washer at Kindle Nation. Please contact me any time at kindlenation@gmail.com. I read all email and comments and try to respond promptly whenever appropriate, often from my other email address, hppress@gmail.com. We also have a Facebook page and a Twitter page, but if you want to contact me I recommend email.

We do try to answer when appropriate, but allow us time and be sure to whitelist our two primary email addresses so that our response doesn’t get caught in your spam filter:

Kindle Nation Mailbag. Sometimes, if I think the topic of an email message or comment will be of interest to a wider group of the citizens of Kindle Nation, I’ll include the message and my response in a From the Kindle Nation Mailbag post, but I only use first names there. If you don’t want your message included, be sure to let me know!

Post Comments. I also welcome comments in response to any post here, but I do moderate comments and I try not to allow spam or incivility, especially when it is unsigned. There are plenty of places where span and incivility are welcome, but life is too short for this to be one of them.

Kindle Nation on Your Kindle. If you enjoy reading this free blog I would love to have you as a subscriber to the Kindle edition, which starts with a 14-day free trial for new subscribers and then costs just 99 cents a month to have every post pushed directly to your Kindle 24/7 in an easy to read format. Just click on http://amzn.to/Free14Days. (Note: Currently, blogs cannot be read through Kindle Apps for other devices,  and they never have been available in that way, but we are encouraging Amazon to change that and we are optimistic that such a change will occur in the future.)

Help Us Spread the Word About Kindle Nation. If you enjoy Kindle Nation Daily, you could help to make it even better if you would take just a moment to post a nice review on the Amazon page for the blog at http://amzn.to/KNReview. Good reviews mean more subscribers, and more subscribers make it easier for me to devote as much time as possible to building Kindle Nation!

Sponsorships. We do not allow Google Ads or similar advertising on Kindle Nation and you’ll never see advertising or spam for Viagra, get-rich-quick schemes, or similar items on our blog. Instead, we accept sponsorships for Kindle ebooks, blogs, periodicals, and accessories as part of our ongoing effort to connect readers and writers through Kindle while also defraying our expenses. If you are an author, publisher, or accessory vendor and you are interested in learning more about sponsorship, there’s more info here.

Hola from a coffee shop in Redondo Beach where you’ve been discussed all day. Are there any oppotunities open in July? I have already signed up for August 4 – hooray – but would like to do something before that if possible. Also, is there any room in the promotion to list things like Kindle legal thriller bestseller or USA Today Bestseller? Star ratings?

Thanks so much. Hoping to schedule a few more slots.

    • Kindle Nation on May 19, 2011 at 10:13 am

Hola back at ya, Rebecca! My ears were burning … and I thought it was very cool when Richard signed up and said he’d heard of us from a real live colleague at a real live coffee shop!

When are you going to feature ebooks for sale on the newsletter? I’m tired of reading freebie offers. If you’re not interested in making us authors happy then unscubscribe me. It’s like getting mud rubbed in my face.

    • Kindle Nation on May 24, 2011 at 8:41 pm

Not sure what you’re reading, Theresa, but we feature ebooks for sale every single day!

  7. Michael Wallace on May 24, 2011 at 8:29 pm

    Theresa,

As a writer, I was delighted when KND mentioned one of my books, but this is primarily a service for readers, rather than writers. Bringing free book offers to the attention of the subscribers seems like a good idea to me.

  8. Clare on June 10, 2011 at 8:58 pm

Thanks for alerting us to free/cheap books. I would like to see SHORT STORY prominently displayed instead of having to read the “fine print” on Amazon after being intrigued by the description.

  9. Dan Russell on June 13, 2011 at 3:28 pm

Something still wrong. Page says the book “The Fort” is free; my Kindle says it is $9.99! What gives?

  10. Lena Bowers on June 14, 2011 at 1:49 pm

Why is it that on Kindle Nation, on my Kindle, not all of the daily free books show up the same day that they are due to come out? I can go on my computer which hurts my bad eye, & get them, but on my Kindle they are usually a day later, every since the new changes went into effect. It will say “15 freebies” but may only list 3.

Hey Steve, great initiative. Would love to support you with some free copies of my non-fiction book ‘Leaving Neverland’ (Why Little Boys Shouldn’t Run Big Corporations). Childhood once a lifestage is now a lifestyle choice and the consequences of this are fast catching up with us. Leaving Neverland weighs up the costs, delightfully skewers some perpetual boys and offers rites of passage as a way for us all to leave Neverland.

Hi Steve! Could you post my new suspense Kindle, The Last American Martyr? A finalist for 2012 Book of the Year on Random House’s YouWriteOn, it was just released on Amazon yesterday. The way our Quality 99-Center pages work now is that they pick up 99-cent titles that have received at least 4 Amazon reader reviews with an average rating of 4 stars or better, so I’m sure we’ll be seeing THE LAST AMERICAN MARTYR soon.
      Cheers,

I am thinking of having my children’s picture book put into E format. What is your opinion about the success of an “E” PICTURE BOOK? Waste of time and money???

    • Kindle Nation on October 1, 2011 at 4:58 pm

There are lots of children’s books offered in e format, and in fact Barnes and Noble uses picture books as a major cornerstone of its Nook marketing strategy. Amazon will probably follow suit now that it’s begun offering color tablets.

I just added my book “Unaccounted For” to the eBook Tracker (cool feature, by the way). KDN thinks it is $3.99, but since last week it has been listed at for $4.99. When will KDN reflect that current price?
