Here's the set-up:

I stumbled across this book by accident and I have to say--I found it highly entertaining and the characters so well rounded I was sucked in from the first page. Julia is a funny, fierce, compassionate woman who just wants to do what's right without getting herself killed in the process. Her familial demons add another layer to her character and I suspect those threads of life experiences will be woven throughout this series. Lots of clues to keep you guessing and tension on every page. Readers will especially appreciate the portrayal of a female protagonist with a backbone of steel.
A gem in the mystery/thriller genre and an author to be watched.
