Ty and Marcus Mitchell are average middle school brothers growing up in a suburb north of Chicago until one night when they’re hurtled through an inter-dimensional gateway to a parallel world defined by its multiple moons and planet-wide apocalypse.

Gotta tell ya… I had a blast writing Spartanica.  I’ve read a lot of sci-fi books where I thought I would’ve done something different to make the story more suspenseful or unpredictable and the characters more fun to read about.  Spartanica is that book.  It’s a roller coaster thrill ride of a story about a couple of average brothers that do exceptional things when they’re suddenly forced into an impossible situation.

I’m the author of Spartanica, but it was read by a bunch of kids (my beta readers) before I even came close to publishing.  So, in a way, the story was also written by a number of middle school students that are crazy about sci-fi.  Believe me, they were tough critics and told me about the parts they liked and the parts they thought were lame.  The lame parts were revised and improved until they were at least as awesome as the rest of the book.  Several adult beta readers went through Spartanica more than once and provided absolutely invaluable feedback as well.
