Here’s the set-up:
A girl, roughly between two to three years old, is found abandoned on a park bench in Glasgow, Scotland in 1979. Being unable to speak or explain herself, she is named Emily and taken in by the Scottish welfare system.
Years later, when young social worker, Kim Martin, meets a seven year old Emily, she suspects that there is definitely more to this child than the doctors have surmised. A suspicion that Emily is profoundly extraordinary.
So begins a journey as told by five different narrators: a social worker, a teenager, a gymnastics coach, a government agent and a sickly old man as they recount their experience when their lives cross with hers. A journey to determine exactly who Emily truly is.
One Reviewer Notes
“I really thought the book was a interesting story. I enjoyed seeing how the character Emily grows in each event and how she is able to over come the challenges she is faced with. This book is a must read as it provides readers with mystery to find out the secret behind the character Emily’s strengths. Great Story… it captured my attention until the last page. I loved it!!!” – Charline, Good Reads
