Oops. Mea Maxima Culpa.

Well, this is embarrassing, for all kinds of reasons.

When I sent out a Free Kindle Nation Shorts excerpt for Karen Fenech’s engaging medieval novel Betrayal today I thought it would be worthy of mention that the novel takes place in the times with which many readers have become familiar through Pillars of the Earth.

All well and good, but I referred to James Patterson as the author of the latter book, rather than Ken Follett. I’m not going to make a crack about how, if you’ve seen one mega-bestselling author….

Nope. There’s no excuse for this kind of carelessness, and I am fully to blame for the brain cramp. And it is especially embarrassing because I just hired an undergraduate intern last week and in an email I sent him this morning I suggested a little more care with respect to accuracy. When actually he is doing an amazing job of getting up to speed on all things Kindle and I … well … I’m sorry. I goofed.

As the official scorer used to say when I played first base for the Sandwich High Blue Knights some years ago, E-3.

I hope that you’ll check out Karen Fenech’s excerpt in spite of me.

And thanks to Tom Dulaney for being the first to hip me to my error.
