Here’s the set-up for Sharon Potts’ South Beach Cinderella, just $2.99 on Kindle:

Somewhere over the rainbow … is a giant dumpster.

At least, that’s how things appear to Frankie Wunder when she discovers her husband’s been cheating on her and there are no fairy tale endings on her horizon. But Frankie, a successful South Beach realtor, isn’t prepared to leave her future up to the wave of anyone’s wand.

Determined to find a man who meets her criteria for the perfect husband and father of the child she desperately wants, Frankie goes on a diet, assembles a list of prospective candidates, and immerses herself in the South Beach dating scene. But is a man who’s rich, successful, and willing to take care of her what Frankie really wants?

As she works her way through a deceitful doctor, a lecherous lawyer, and a rakish real estate executive–the men most South Beach Cinderellas would gladly lose a slipper to–Frankie realizes her dream men are nightmares and her true Prince Charming is nothing like the guy in the fairy tale.

From the reviewers:

”South Beach Cinderella” is a delicious tale of a woman-done-wrong who triumphs. Frankie Wunder cuts her cheating louse of a husband loose, kisses a few frogs, and finally discovers that whole Prince Charming thing is SO over. How can you not root for a gal who keeps her feet firmly on the ground, even when her head’s in the clouds? Sharon Potts’s funny new novel is like ”Sex and the City,” only a lot more real.  –  Deborah Sharp, author of ”Mama Sees Stars,” the fourth Mace Bauer Mystery.

“A laugh-out-loud page-turner for every woman whose Prince Charming turns out to be a frog. If you like Susan Isaacs and Jennifer Weiner, you’ll love Sharon Potts!”  — Miriam Auerbach, author of “Dirty Harriet” and “Dirty Harriet Rides Again.”

“… a hilarious contemporary story about searching for love in all the wrong places.”  — Nancy J. Cohen

“Loads of laughs, great writing, and a sweet story about getting to know one’s heart.” —  Delia Foley

I’ve never been good with boundaries. When I’m told something can’t or shouldn’t be done, I’m usually incited to do it. For the last few years, my writing impulses have taken me into a world of dark places and suspense.

I have put my heart into Jeremy Stroeb and Robbie Ivy and experience the same fears and terror they do as they search for family and truth. I write novels of suspense and I hope I’ve done it well.

IN THEIR BLOOD received a starred review from Publishers Weekly and the 2010 Benjamin Franklin Award for best mystery/suspense novel, and SOMEONE’S WATCHING also received kudos from the likes of Booklist and Publishers Weekly.

So why, when I’m on my way to establishing a successful brand as Sharon Potts–suspense novelist, would I decide to go against conventional wisdom and write and publish humorous contemporary fiction? Well, because I like Mozart and Dan Fogelberg and Degas and Picasso.

I’m not a one-track tape. Maybe you aren’t, either. I hope you’ll have a look at my latest work–South Beach Cinderella. Yes, it’s funny–at least I intended it to be. But it also has the themes that are important to me and are in everything I write–about family, and what really matters in life. So come meet Frankie Wunder and see why she believes that over the rainbow is a giant dumpster.  Visit me at www.sharonpotts.com
