Book One of the Black Flagged series.

A graduate of the Department of Defense’s experimental Black Flag program, Daniel Petrovich carries secrets he’d rather keep buried. Secrets his government has hidden in the deepest vaults of the Pentagon. Unfortunately for Daniel, someone is trying to raise Black Flag from the dead and bring Daniel back with it. Someone who knows all of his darkest secrets. In exchange for the promise of a clean slate and a chance to keep the life he has built with the woman he loves, he agrees to carry out one final mission.Daniel’s life is about to disintegrate, as he becomes the focus of a relentless FBI manhunt and the target of a vengeful CIA agent. To survive, he’ll be forced to release a dark side he fought for years to keep suppressed. A dark side with few boundaries, and even fewer loyalties.

***

Black Flagged lays the foundation for a gritty, unapologetic series exploring the often unceremoniously brutal world of covert operatives and government agency politics.

Reviews
“Konkoly has crafted a well-paced thriller that sets his new series in motion, providing entertaining plot twists, nifty evasion techniques and a healthy dose of cynicism about government agencies…A promising start to a complex new black-ops thriller series” – Kirkus Reviews

“Nobody writes breakneck-paced thrill rides like Konkoly. There are few in the genre who can do it like he does!” – Russell Blake, bestselling author of JET and King of Swords.

“If you like Vince Flynn books then this will be one you will enjoy. CIA, FBI, Special Forces and the like. Overall a great read.” – 5 Star Amazon Review

About The Author

“I write techno-thrillers and apocalyptic stories with gritty, often unapologetic themes. I don’t believe in black and white, so strap in for a roller coaster ride through conflicted territory, where the right decision is rarely obvious…and always comes at a difficult price.

Steven graduated with merit from the U.S. Naval Academy, receiving a Bachelor of Science in English Literature. At one point, he studied Shakespeare and Electrical Engineering during the same semester. He was one of sixteen graduating Ensigns selected for the U.S. Navy’s elite Special Warfare program (SEALs).

He served the next eight years on active duty in various Navy and Marine Corps units, training with the Navy SEALs, driving warships, and directly guiding every conceivable munition onto target. From Visit, Board, Search and Seizure (VBSS) operations as a boarding officer in the Arabian Gulf to directing Close Air Support (CAS) as a Forward Air Control (FAC) assigned to a specialized Marine Corps unit, Steven’s “in-house” experience with a wide variety of regular and elite military units brings a unique authenticity to his writing.

Upon resigning his commission, Steven moved with his family to coastal southern Maine, where he wakes up at “zero dark thirty” to write, before reporting to his day job. When “off duty,” he struggles to strike a balance between a woefully short sailing season and unreasonably long winter.
