John Abernathy—a former private investigator, a disheartened engimatologist, and a descendent of extraterrestrials from the Sagittarius star system—returns on Las Vegas, New Mexico. His trip is interrupted by the local sheriff asking him to investigate a home invasion perpetrated by an unusual suspect, a giant half-man/half-rabbit.

Tracking the culprit to a trailer park, John discovers evidence linking the creature to Colonel Alvin Hollister, the government’s lead scientist studying extraterrestrial activity. Realizing that it’s one of Colonel Hollister’s experiments, John decides to journey to the colonel’s research facility beneath Los Alamos, intent on reverting the rabbit to its human form. Along the way, he encounters a quintet of frat-boy extraterrestrials, a shot-gun wielding cocktail waitress, and Colonel Hollister’s greatest weapon, “Project RR.” When “Project RR” runs amok, it’s up to John to stop it from escaping before it can destroy the town.
