Regarding the Kindle Movers & Shakers list, I noticed that death notice for the Kindle Movers & Shakers list, too, but let’s just say that rumors of the list’s death are premature: it’s still right there, every day, in the Kindle Store, and here’s a link:

One caveat about the the Kindle Movers & Shakers list that might be worth keeping in mind. Frequently you’ll see that the top titles on the list have moved up by a factor of infinity because they are shown as being “previously unranked,” leading to the notion that are soaring to the top of the bestseller list in their first 24 hours. While this is true in a few cases, the majority of such listings are often books that migrated from “free” to “paid” in the past 24 hours, and frankly I can’t think of anything I would less rather do than pay $5 or $10 for a book that was free yesterday.

Finally, here’s another bestseller list feature that is well worth checking out: the Bestseller Archive for the Kindle Store. You can pick any week, month, or year since the Kindle Store was launched and see what titles sold the most copies. I’ve just chosen a random time period, but I find it fascinating to keep looking at the same list again, and again, and again.
