Leigh Novak left behind a faithless husband to begin a new life with her young son Jeremy – as a family doctor in a small northern California town. But the town of Hartwood held a bitter welcome for them both and a secret only the children knew.
From the reviewers:
“A haunting psychological thriller in the best-selling tradition of Mary Higgins Clark….” — LA Times
“The book is eminently readable and as fast-paced, taut and compelling a medical psychodrama as has come along in years.” — David Shobin, author of The Unborn
“Wow! This is dramatic, page-turning stuff-full of creepy villains.” — George Anders, The Wall Street Journal
In the style of the best writers of medical fiction, “Wednesday’s Child” not only intrigues the reader with strong characterizations, but with a mounting danger. The reader will appreciate the dramatic style of pacing with frequent scene changes that become more frantic as the story races to its climax. The authors, being physicians, come by their descriptions of medical situations from the best of sources: personal experience. – terrapinjerry
The characters were portrayed in such a way that they were life-like and sympathetic. As a physician it was easy to empathize with the protagonist (Leigh) in her problems trying to establish herself in a small town environement in which she was prejudged as being at fault for a child’s unfortunate death. The ending was extremely exciting. – Steve Singer
Riveting! You won’t be able to put this one down, I guarantee it! WEDNESDAY’S CHILD is a roller coaster ride of the first order. Loved it. Believable characters you care about. Suspense that builds and when you’re already on the edge of your seat, the authors turn the heat up. A bang-up ending. A medical thriller that is a sort of Robin Cook and Mary Higgins Clark blend. Not a lagging paragraph in the entire book. You won’t want to miss this exciting thriller from the authors of SHOU. – Joan Hall Hovey
