(Ed. Note: There’s a certain rhythm that we’ve come to expect in the back-and-forth between readers and writers. An author brings out a book, we buy it and read it, and it gets reviewed, but after that the conversation can become truncated. In the olden days the reviews came from “gatekeepers” who in many cases were authors who had books of their own coming out in a few weeks, and there was a certain “You scratch my back …” subtext to it all. One of the many positive changes that has occurred with the innovations of the past decade or so, including the launch of the Kindle, is that the
review that really count are — more and more — written by real readers like you and me. Here at Kindle Nation we’ve tried to put a real emphasis on what readers think of the books that are available in the Kindle Store, so it’s a great treat to share with about a book like Nancy Naigle’s SWEET TEA AND SECRETS, which is aptly billed as “a love story at the crossroad ofsmall town and suspense,” and which has garnered 25 straight rave reviews from Kindle readers. An even greater treat? Being able to keep the conversation by introducing Nancy for this guest post! –S.W.)

Summer is quickly wrapping up. It’s getting dark noticeably earlier, school buses are practicing their routes, and I’m beginning to shift gears a little to ready for the change in seasons. Living in Virginia we experience all four of the seasons and I love them all.
This summer was extra special for me as my dream of becoming a published author came true. SWEET TEA AND SECRETS is about a woman who returns to her hometown of Adams Grove to take care of Grandma Pearl’s estate thinking her biggest problem was going to be avoiding her ex-fiancé until she realizes she’s the only one left standing between a dangerous con-man and a secret from Pearl’s past.
SWEET TEA AND SECRETS is set in the small town of Adams Grove where the recipes are held tight to the chest, the gossip not so much, and it’s okay if you forget something because just about anyone else in town will be happy to fill in the blanks for you!
My husband and I live on a working goat farm in southern Virginia, so don’t be surprised that there’s a mention of at least one goat in every one of my stories. For example, one particularly unlikeable gal is described: “Like a goat, she always wanted what she couldn’t quite get to.”
SWEET TEA AND SECRETS is available in print and e-format and is just $2.99 on kindle.
Meanwhile, don’t miss out on Pearl’s Perfect Sweet Tea recipe. It’s always sweet tea season, ya know. Oh! And sign up for my newsletter so you can stay up to date on the release of OUT OF FOCUS later this year and get in on other super secret southern recipes, too.
Hugs and happy reading,
Nancy
