Here’s the set-up:
At the age of 45, I began writing about life through the eyes of a middle ager. The book, entitled, Fighting the Effects of Gravity: A Bittersweet Journey into Middle Life outlined the foibles of living in the middle stages of ones existence. Gravity discusses such topics as presbyopia (the need for bifocals), mid-life sex, and a butt that has fallen and can’t get up. But now, having reached the ripe old age of 70, I find that my issues have increased tenfold. Eyes that required bifocals have developed cataracts, tears. and displacements. Knees that just harbored arthritis require replacement, and dentures have suddenly entered the conversation. Believe me folks, middle age is a nuisance, but Old Age Sucks.
