Odell Sterling is looking forward to the summer of 1967. School’s out giving him three months to hang out with his buddies, play baseball, and with any luck, find a girlfriend.

Being fifteen, he’s stuck in an awkward stage. Too old for some things, too young for others. Odell’s main hope starting the summer is to win a recreation league championship with the neighborhood kids-a major challenge for the youthful team named the Renegades.

When he meets a cute girl his age named Kat who he discovers lives nearby, Odell hatches a plan to get close to her. He faces mounting obstacles to the growing feelings between them as the summer progresses and may have to break a few rules. Things get complicated as he struggles with a newfound passion.
