Here’s the set-up:
A Detroit Medical Thriller After Covid-19 and normal life shapes our activities, this story unfolds.
The story begins with two hunters stalking a prized buck in Northern Michigan.
Deer are acting strange—what is going on here?
Two cub newspaper reporters from the Detroit Times stumble onto the story that could make them famous.
Jeb Porter and Katie Kottle join hands with Louis Dingman, a seasoned reporter, to pursue the sensational scoop of a lifetime.
Their chauvinistic boss, Cory Pillbock, sends them on a spirited discovery mission to uncover a murder.
Their mission–to uncover the fate of a backwoods hermit, apparently murdered by a blunt weapon of unknown origin. They discover that bizarre behavior of deer near West Branch, a busy hunting and tourist stop in northern Michigan, is causing hunter concern and links to several deaths. In their travels, they encounter humans and deer strangely influenced by an apparent brain-bending disease leading to a horrific conclusion of murderous intent.
Whatever it is, is spreading. Is it a pandemic virus or a mysterious toxin?
A search into human history provides uncanny references to similar strange occurrences possibly linked to a mysterious grain fungus toxin existing throughout the world. Did this illness cause the bewitching behavior of Salem women? Or the murderous behavior of Jack the Ripper? You be the judge.
Be prepared to participate in this heart-pounding adventure.
The story takes you on a captivating journey of intrigue, eerie undertakings, maddening events, thought-provoking dialogue and a love story ending.
“A smart, creepy, can’t-stop-reading trek through a could-happen series of deadly events and mind-altering consequences with lots of twists and turns.”
“Interesting references to Salem witch trials, Jack the Ripper, and ancient writings–make it seem very real.”
