After a scandal forces her to leave L.A., investigative journalist Meg Dawson returns to her home city of Seattle to face the past she left behind and rekindle her career. While learning the ropes of her new job at the Journal, a student at one of the city’s most prestigious private schools is murdered. The boy’s circumstances are strikingly similar to the disappearance of her best friend, Noah, last seen twelve years ago.
