The only thing holding you back is your own personality. We recommend that you read Gripped with a nice bottled water.
One Reviewer Notes:
A brilliant satire, an intelligent read and a dark tale of control, of Mark McCarren... that's two C's and two R's... and an 8 week program. Donnely spins a wonderful malevolent darkness, a hilarious yet poignant tale of how disjointed society has become. Gripped is darkly witty read that leaves you thinking about the humour. It's cinematic flow crying for film treatment.

Amid the fractured landscape of Iron City, rusting mills, rotting industry, he struggles to find sense in his life. Ultimately he must ask: who is he and can he survive?
One Reviewer Notes:

Here's the set-up:
Just days before his execution, Calvery Thomas has reason to believe in thin places. He looks at the world through the eyes of someone who has already passed on. When he promises Finn Tully a reward to find his daughter and prove his innocence to her, Calvery knows the request is unreasonable. He also knows Finn needs his help, and Calvery's daughter needs the money. Finn is clean, sober, on the downside of a prison term and not about to get swallowed up in Calvery's problems until a series of unexplainable events propel Finn into the middle of the mysteries surrounding Calvery's execution. When Finn finds the daughter, Chloe, in Clam Harbor, Washington, he soon realizes she is in danger. Chloe is a tough, no-nonsense charter boat captain involved in a smuggling operation with the very man who framed her father. Finn and Chloe join forces to find the truth behind Calvery's execution and, in the process, discover the power of a father's love and the miracles of the world beyond this one.
One Reviewer Notes:
A fine debut novel, and the only one I've read that combines the best aspects of a thriller, the depth of character of the highest-order literary fiction, and the sublimeness of the most memorable spiritual writing (without knocking a reader over the head with a message), and doing all in a voice so unique that her readers would recognize it instantly should they be given an anonymized sample of her much-anticipated second novel. Go Diane!

Here's the set-up:
Peter can tell you how to run a great marketing campaign. He can tell you everything there is to know about successful trade show programs. He can tell you stories about the thousands of people he has met, miles he has flown, hotel rooms he has stayed in, and ways to work the system to your advantage when you travel. But he can’t tell the woman he loves how he feels.
One Reviewer Notes:
Peter in Flight is an interesting and unique read. Part fact, part fiction, and completely engaging! The beginning draws you in, and the writing keeps you engrossed to the end. The author's descriptions really put you in the moment and help you to experience things from his perspective. The main character, Peter, is a traveling salesperson. He has no family, no property, and, most importantly, no time to develop a meaningful relationship. Though he meets hundreds of people with individual stories of their own, Peter finds himself unable to tear his thoughts away from his married boss, Tatiana. Peter is a sensitive and caring person, and his story is genuine and sincere. The themes are real and relatable, but the writing is lighthearted and even humorous. The author is able to write about everyday thoughts and events in a way that is captivating and intriguing. He truly captures your attention and brings the story to life! This book is short, only 112 pages long, but I enjoyed every one of them, and I'm sure you will, too.

Here's the set-up:
Lusielle's bleak but orderly life as a remedy mixer is shattered when she is sentenced to die for a crime she didn't commit. She's on the pyre, about to be burned, when a stranger breaks through the crowd and rescues her from the flames.

Brennus, Lord of Laonia is the last of his line. He is caught in the grip of a mysterious curse that has murdered his kin, doomed his people and embittered his life. To defeat the curse, he must hunt a birthmark and kill the woman who bears it in the foulest of ways. Lusielle bears such a mark.

Stalked by intrigue and confounded by the forbidden passion flaring between them, predator and prey must come together to defeat not only the vile curse, but also the curse giver who has already conjured their demise.
One Reviewer Notes:
A completely original tale that never comes up short. Machado's greatest forte is still her ability to create characters that are not only relatable, but remain original and unforgettable; the characters serve as a vessel to immerse us in a world that is beautifully crafted and incredibly deep. Everything about this novel falls perfectly into place, it follows a steady pace that will keep you glued until the last page. Two thumbs up for Mrs. Machado!

Here's the set-up:
Sometimes you just have to walk away...to rediscover who you are.

Maggie Harrison is a devoted wife and mother, always putting the needs of her family ahead of her own. Then, one day, without planning to, she drives away, leaving behind an indifferent husband and two sulking teenagers. Maggie goes off on a quest of self-exploration, enjoying adventures, meeting new people, and rediscovering her passions. For the first time in years, she dreams about what she wants out of life, and she realizes that her deteriorating marriage can no longer continue as it is. Can she and Andrew repair their floundering relationship, or is their marriage over?

Andrew Harrison likes his life to be in perfect order. He enjoys his work and status in the community, leaving Maggie to take care of everything at home. He knows his marriage isn't perfect, but after twenty-three years and two kids, whose marriage is? When Maggie leaves without a word, he is forced to start paying more attention to his home life and his almost grown children, and he begins to do a little self-exploration of his own. Slowly, he begins to understand what drove Maggie away, and how important she is in his life. Is it too late to resolve their differences and save their marriage? Or will Andrew lose Maggie forever?
One Reviewer Notes:
Maggie's Turn is delightful! Who hasn't thought of just driving away? Well, Maggie actually does it - without planning, without malice, just drives away. Once again, Ms. Sletten has taken a difficult issue and written an enjoyable, thoughtful story. Her well-developed characters are believable and I especially liked Kaia, Maggie's teen daughter - if you've ever been a teen girl or had a teen daughter, you'll identify with Kaia, as well. My favorite takeaway pearl is "You marry and look forward to all the possibilities together, then slowly come apart as those dreams become reality." So read Maggie's Turn and join her as she drives west in search of herself.
