Here’s the set-up:

Isabel Beebe thinks she’s cursed in the romance department. Her teenage crush, Ford Hendrix, ignored all her letters. Her husband left her for another…man. So Isabel has come home to dust off her passion for fashion and run the family bridal shop until her parents are ready to sell it. Then she’ll pursue her real dreams. At least, that’s the plan, until sexy, charming Ford returns and leaves her feeling fourteen all over again…..

Seeing Isabel all grown-up hits bodyguard trainer Ford like a sucker punch. Back when heartbreak made him join the military, her sweet letters kept him sane. Now he can’t take his eyes—or his lips—off her. The man who gave up on love has a reason to stay in Fool’s Gold forever—if three little words can convince Isabel to do the same.

Book One in the Black Flagged series:

As the most notorious member of the Department of Defense’s disbanded Black Flag program, Daniel Petrovich has taken extreme measures to protect his new life and keep his secrets buried.

Someone is trying to raise the fallen program from the ashes and bring Daniel back with it. Someone who holds the key to Daniel’s darkest secrets…and has pulled his strings before.
In exchange for the promise of a clean slate, and a chance to keep the life he has built with the woman he loves, Daniel agrees to carry out one final mission: the seemingly uncomplicated assassination of a confirmed terrorist financier.
Daniel’s life is about to disintegrate, as he becomes the focus of a relentless federal manhunt, and the target of a ruthlessly vengeful CIA agent. To survive, he’ll be forced to release a dark side he’d fought for years to suppress. A dark side critical to his former puppet master’s intricate plan to revive the Black Flag program.

Black Flagged lays the foundation for a gritty, unapologetic series exploring the often unceremoniously brutal and serpentine link between covert operations and government agency politics.

About The Author

“I write techno-thrillers and apocalyptic stories with gritty, often unapologetic themes. I don’t believe in black and white, so strap in for a roller coaster ride through conflicted territory, where the right decision is rarely obvious…and always comes at a difficult price.

Steven graduated with merit from the U.S. Naval Academy, receiving a Bachelor of Science in English Literature. At one point, he studied Shakespeare and Electrical Engineering during the same semester. He was one of sixteen graduating Ensigns selected for the U.S. Navy’s elite Special Warfare program (SEALs).

He served the next eight years on active duty in various Navy and Marine Corps units, training with the Navy SEALs, driving warships, and directly guiding every conceivable munition onto target. From Visit, Board, Search and Seizure (VBSS) operations as a boarding officer in the Arabian Gulf to directing Close Air Support (CAS) as a Forward Air Control (FAC) assigned to a specialized Marine Corps unit, Steven’s “in-house” experience with a wide variety of regular and elite military units brings a unique authenticity to his writing.

Upon resigning his commission, Steven moved with his family to coastal southern Maine, where he wakes up at “zero dark thirty” to write, before reporting to his day job. When “off duty,” he struggles to strike a balance between a woefully short sailing season and unreasonably long winter.

Here’s the set-up:

In the late 21st Century, the world’s governments have collapsed and mob rule sweeps the planet.
A group of so-called experts, known as the Confederacy, assume control.
When they unleash thousands of unmanned killing machines on the rioters, the conflict ends, yet the majority of the populace remain destitute under the watchful eye of the drones.
Twenty years pass. Joshua has grown up on the now ruined streets of Chicago, in the shadow of the Confederacy’s symbol of authority, the Tower, situated within their impenetrable base, the Colonnade.
With his sister taken by the Confederacy for some unknown purpose, Joshua drifts for years around the border of the Colonnade. Until one day he makes an incredible discovery that leads him to a secret resistance called the Academy, a school for training in the art of invisibility.
But Joshua has his own agenda, and he is hell-bent on a quest for the truth, no matter the cost…
