Here’s the set-up:

“This book has lots of good writing. The description is detailed. The interactions between people are believable. The conversations are realistic. The conflicts are intense…served up by flawed, edgy characters via a plot that is completely unpredictable”
~ Violet Nesdoly (BLOGCRITCS.org/Seattle Post-Intelligencer)

A fantastic story full of underlying meaning…I could not put the book down.” ~ Terry Delaney (christianbooknotes.com)

“This book is full of mystery and suspense, I literally had no idea where this book was going or where it was going to end but that made me enjoy it even more. I found that the more I read, the more I wanted to read.” ~ THE KINDLE BOOK REVIEW

Light Under the House is the saga of an American family–the Levis, a family of secrets. None greater than the secret of what lies under their house, a secret that could destroy them. A secret that an ancient evil will stop at nothing to uncover. The novel follows the Levi family line for a generation, creating a story that explores lives lived in the aftermath of the cultural rebellion of the late 1960’s. It is a historical fiction novel that shows the power of consequence and the hope of redemption. Most of all, it is a story about fathers and their children.

Here’s the set-up:

As punishment for mankind’s horrible deeds in Before, infants in the Territory of Malm are born soulless. These infants are safeguarded from society because of their unsightly appearance and unquenchable hunger. When infants are Chosen, they are called to the Fountain of Souls for their soul implantation, where they are ensouled and finally become completely human.

Soul Implantation Day 3675 starts out like any other day, following the paths of five people who are destined to meet in the courtyard of the Fountain of Souls; the lead acolyte for the Office of Souls, the parents of one of the Chosen, an adult soulless who has been biding his time for a soul, and the Soul Garden’s caretaker. They bear witness to a soul implantation ceremony that goes terribly awry and is the beginning of an epic struggle between good and evil.

The Soul Garden is the novella prequel to the upcoming Twisted Souls series.

Kindle Nation Daily Bargain Book Alert: Laurel-Ann Dooley’s BEST FRIEND THIEF – A Treat For The Kiddies at a Great Price – 99 Cents on Kindle!

Best Friend Thief

by Laurel-Ann Dooley

5.0 stars – 10 Reviews

Here’s the set-up:

“Dooley’s debut middle-grade novel gets at the heart of friendship conflicts between young girls.  In late elementary school, friends are everything, and this book captures these feelings.  A fun read that reaches inside pre-adolescent girls.”  – Kirkus

“As a psychologist, I really loved this book.  It elucidates the subtle dynamics of peer relationships in a way that young readers can relate to and understand.  Even though the story is for young girls, the cliffhangers really kept me turning the pages.  I couldn’t put the book down!” – Dr. Linda Sonna, author, The Everything Tween Book

Nathalie can’t believe it. Her best friend Reagan is ditching her to be BFFs with the class popular girl. They’d been best friends forever, but when Queen Blair decides that she wants Reagan to be her BFF, Reagan is gone in a flash.

Catherine and Isabel can’t believe it either. They’re best friends just like Nathalie and Reagan, and the four of them always hung out together — but now what? Will Nathalie get Reagan back? Does she even want her back? Will the group ever be the same again?Confusion and hurt feelings take over — and that’s just the start of it!

About The Author

Laurel-Ann Dooley began life as a journalist (actually, she started out as a profession-less infant, but no need to go that far back). As a general assignment reporter in South Florida, she wrote about everything from the life and times of lifeguards to the life and times of drowning chickens (short and bad, respectively, as compared to those of lifeguards). She subsequently worked as a profile writer for a New York public relations company.

With the idea of practicing law and writing concurrently, she went to law school and then practiced as a litigator. Alongside her lawyer work, she established a freelance journalism base and ultimately returned to writing full-time.

Laurel-Ann is the creator of the Between Best Friends book series, based on all the girls she has known, past and present. They are more alike than you’d think. Best Friend Thief is the first in the series.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Royal Sheikh, January 29, 2012

S. M. Fatta "Beauty Brite Reviews" (Winston Salem, NC)

This review is from: The Royal Sheikh (Kindle Edition)
The Royal Sheikh is a page turner that I read in one evening. I love romance and this book will warm your heart. Clare is an architect in training and meets Rafiq one evening while out with her friend, Louise. Rafiq and Clare meet in the most unromantic way, although he quickly becomes entranced by her. They are both intrigued by each other and secretly hope to see each other again.

When they run into each other again, Rafiq asks her to come up with designs for his new house. As they spend more time together, they slowly fall for one another. Through misinformation, misunderstanding and disagreements, they encounter a few bumps in their relationship. Rafiq and Clare must learn to communicate to make their love work.

Every girl wants to be loved, spoiled (just a bit) and wanted. Rafiq certainly fits the mold as a great guy. He treats Clare with love and affection and he genuinely cares about her. When Clare discovers his secret, she reacts as I would have if I were in her shoes. She wants to put distance between and Rafiq and try to move on and start over.

The Royal Sheikh will keep you on edge wanting to get to the end. What will Clare do? What will Rafiq say? How will they overcome this? You will cry, your heart will melt, and you will want to root for Rafiq and Clare. Grab your tissues and some tea and settle in for this romance roller coaster!

5.0 out of 5 stars Exotic escape!, January 27, 2012
This review is from: The Royal Sheikh (Kindle Edition)
Thank you, Katheryn Lane, for the exotic adventure of Clare and Prince Rafiq of Bahir! Every girl dreams of finding their Prince Charming, Clare found hers purely by accident - those are the best kind. The setup for this story is believable. Rafiq is royalty and he's hounded by the press, but you'll soon discover in Ms. Lane's story, that despite his wealth and notoriety, he possesses the heart of a common man who's looking for 'the real thing'. He finds it, in Clare McKay. This tale is filled with conflict - some from Rafiq and Clare being from two different worlds, but also the realistic conflict of learning to trust and how easy it is to believe the worst. Ms. Lane expertly played the sexual tension between these two characters (at the risk of revealing too much, I'll leave it at that. You'll just have to read it to discover what I'm talking about). Their passion was not limited to just physical attraction - I loved how the author gave them the passion for art. The details of London and Bahir, made me want to be there to experience them firsthand. :-)) This story is sweet, heartwarming, yet sexy. You're in for a treat!

Here's the set-up:
US Air Force Lt. Richard Silva's hell on earth begins in the fall of 1970 when his plane is shot down over North Vietnam. Silva is captured and taken to a POW camp where he is turned over to a shadowy interrogator who specializes in the systematic torture of American prisoners. Miraculously, Silva survives and returns to the US.

He finds an America that is profoundly different from the country he left. But America isn't the only thing that has changed. Silva's mind has been horribly altered. For him there is only one way out: Find the man who tortured him. Find him and kill him. With only a few clues to his enemy's true identity, Silva embarks on a manhunt.

Silva quickly penetrates a shadowy underworld of politicians, criminals and intelligence agents in New York, Washington and ultimately in Paris. In France, he further burrows into a nether world of professional killers, political extremists, cops and assassins. Along the way, he finds romance with a beautiful young artist and rediscovers his own humanity, all the while drawing closer to the man he must murder in order to redeem his own soul.

This is a 2011 revised version of a novel originally published under the title "REVENGE" to rave reviews in 1976.

Reader Comments
"Just read 'Revenge: Payback in Paris'. Terrific read and if you're a fan of Robert Ludlum, Lee Child or Daniel Silva, you'll enjoy this book. It's very gripping, well researched with some interesting twists. It's a classic 'one guy on his own attempting to right a wrong' kind of story, but it keeps you interested throughout and is hard to put down. You always want to know 'what happens next?"
P. Schmideg, Amazon - 5 stars

"This is a very sharp thriller, written in the 1970's when stories like The French Connection were before the public. I read this years ago and then updated to Kindle. Still a fine book, slam bang pacing and a fast exciting read"
Peter Wilhite, Amazon - 5 stars
"I just finished Revenge and I have discovered a new author. I can't wait to read more of Noel Hynd's books."
