Here's the set-up:
Mark Taylor discovers first hand that no good deed goes unpunished when the old camera he found during a freelance job in an Afghanistan bazaar gives him more than great photos. It triggers dreams of disasters. Tragedies that happen exactly as he envisions them. He learns that not only can he see the future, he can change it. Then the unthinkable happened and everyone ignored his frantic warnings. Thousands die. Suddenly, the Feds are pounding on his door and the name they have for Taylor isn't urban hero. It's enemy combatant. And, it means they can do anything they want to him. Anything at all. Approx. 368 pages
One Reviewer Notes:
Mary McDonald has created a unique storyline, essentially a variation on clairvoyance wherein the protagonist not only sees the future, but has the ability to change the outcome. The result of his benevolence is the subject of the title - No Good Deed - - - goes unpunished. I was captivated by McDonald's story and read it in two sittings. She is an excellent writer, crafts a solid plot line and holds the readers interest from start to finish. What more could a reader ask of an author. A great read and worthy of the success it has achieved.

Here’s the set-up:
Winner of the Southwest Writers Novel Contest, Thriller category!FBI agent Nick Bracco can’t stop a Kurdish terrorist from firing missiles at random homes across the country. The police can’t stand watch over every household, so Bracco recruits his cousin Tommy to help track down this terrorist. Tommy is in the Mafia. Oh yeah, it gets messy fast. As fast as you can turn the pages. Writer/Director Stephen Carpenter said, “Couldn’t put it down and now I want more. Bravo.” Judith L. Pearson author of “Wolves at the Door,” and “Belly of the Beast,” said, “Gary Ponzo is simply the best new thriller writer out there.”
One Reviewer Notes:

“A Touch of Deceit by Gary Ponzo is an excellent action & adventure story that will keep the reader turning the pages. Nick Bracco of the FBI is part of the agency’s counter terrorism team. Once again faced with an old nemesis, he is quickly drawn into a familiar role, only this time he is trying to prevent Kurd militants from completing a devastating terror mission within the United States. Fifty explosions kill innocent Americans, one explosion in each state, but that is only the opening strike in a devastating plot. When Nick’s brother is kidnapped by the terrorist, Nick realizes he needs help. To get it done, he recruits his cousin, Tommy Bracco, a local mob member, to help with the case. Soon the mob gets very actively involved. Things get interesting very quickly. I can highly recommend this book. This is a terrific story and well worth the read. The characters are straightforward. The dialogue is great and the plot is tight. The action scenes are excellent and very realistic. The cast of characters is outstanding, from Nick’s partner to the president of the USA to the other FBI agents and of course, the Mafia soldiers. The story has nice surprises both good and bad. The author has created a wonderful story, and crafted an adventure thriller with many twists and turns and a satisfying ending. He skillfully weaves a story where the Mafia culture blends with the FBI as they try to overcome major differences of philosophy to work together to solve a deadly terrorist plot. The story is packed with fast-paced action along with a mixture of contemporary issues, and a touch of humor as well. Excellent. ”

Author Gary Ponzo began his writing career over a decade ago by writing short stories. He quickly discovered a knack for the short form. In just five years he’d published seven short stories in various publications, two of which were nominated for the very prestigious Pushcart Prize. His first novel, “A Touch of Deceit,” took five years to write and one to pick clean. The story was born from his childhood experiences working in his father’s candy store in Brooklyn, NY. His father was Sicilian and became friendly with some local members of a different kind of Sicilian family. Since Gary was just fifteen at the time, these family members would make sure he was protected whenever he would work late at night by himself. He soon discovered a side to the mafia not many people knew. It was these relationships which caused him to write about Sicilian FBI agent, Nick Bracco, who recruits his mafia cousin to chase down the world’s most feared terrorist. “A Touch of Deceit,” went on to win the 2009 Southwest Writers Novel Contest, Thriller category. He is working on the sequel to the novel as well as continuing to publish his short stories. Gary currently lives in Phoenix, Arizona with his wife Jennifer and two children, Jessica and Kyle.

Here's the set-up:
In the tradition of Clive Cussler comes the first novel in an exciting new series of thrilling adventure, high-stakes international threats, and lost treasures....Moscow, 1560: A lost Byzantine library...last seen in the possession of Russia's Ivan the Terrible...Siberia, 1942: A World War II female fighter pilot crashes in the mountains of Siberia and is taken away by a small, mysterious tribe...United States, 2007: Four simultaneous earthquakes erupt across the United States in areas without fault lines....Marina Alexander lives for adventure. She pilots small planes in order to participate in search and rescue missions with her dog, deep in the most dangerous caves on earth. She also studies antiquities at the University of Michigan, and is just about to depart on the most important trip of her career when she is swept into an adventure of high-stakes, international intrigue.Little does she know, she has a connection to a dangerous group of eco-terrorists that will bring her face to face with them--and leave her with a terrible choice. From the deep, dangerous caves of mid-Pennsylvania to the southern shore of Lake Superior, to the desolate mountains of Siberia and the slick urban oil center of Riyadh, Siberian Treasure will take readers on a fast-paced, thrilling ride.
One Reviewer Notes:
If you like Dan Brown, Steve Berry, or Clive Cussler, you'll love this book. I read it in one sitting and came back to Amazon looking for more like this from Colleen Gleason (there isn't more yet! Write fast, Ms. Gleason). She takes the legend of a lost library that belonged to Ivan the Terrible and ties it in with a very modern-day group of ecoterrorists who believe in the Gaia Theory--the fact that the earth is one large, complicated organism. These ecoterrorists live in Siberia and have been trying to get the attention of the rest of the world for years, and finally have resorted to taking serious measures. Marina Alexander, who is sort of like Cussler's Dirk Pitt, does cave search and rescues and she flies small planes. She's also an antiquities expert. A little larger than life, but, hey, I like that. Plus, she's more than just a cut-out action adventure hero, because she has personal problems that end up being tied into this mess. It's a great book and I highly recommend it

Here's the set-up:
THE TALES OF THE SCATTERED EARTH:Once, long ago, there was one Earth. It was said that many deities gazed down upon it protectively, and there was balance between them all. Then something went wrong. The balance shifted—toward darkness. Earth was shattered, her people destroyed, her remains scattered far and wide. But the gods survived the cataclysm. They scattered as well, each pursuing a fragment of their former domain. And, when they overtook those shards, the gods drew upon what power remained to them to restore their worshippers to life. These new followers rose from dust and imperfect memory, for the gods too had been injured. Each claimed a new home, and a new life, and each thought itself—at least at first—to be the only Earth. All memory of their former world was lost, except vague memories of the gods who gave them new life. Then, one day, a single great event drew all their eyes to the stars—and beyond. And each of them felt a yearning. Something in them desired to be whole again, or at least to understand. These are their stories. These are The Tales of the Scattered Earth.
One Reviewer Notes:
The second in the Scattered Earth Tales - a collaboration with Aaron Rosenberg and Steven Savile - The Second Veil begins with our hero Euphrankes being banished from the city of Urv for daring to show initiative that runs counter to the established ways, in a scene reminiscent of the Rush epic 2112. What's needed is a short, sharp shock - which arrives in the form of space debris that crashes through the protective bubble of the First Veil and threatens the whole existence of not only Urv, but the whole planet too... Written with energy and flowing descriptions, the story combines a sound explanation of Urv's technology and history, and a unique twist on travel via Veil protected roads and Airships. Countless discoveries and events draw the reader inexorably to the point of departure as the Author weaves the threads of the story into a glittering climax. The Scattered Earth Tales promise to be a rich universe of action and storytelling, and The Second Veil is well worth reading as you begin it's exploration. Any fans of Stargate and Babylon 5 work are well advised to read this too.

Here's the set-up:
On the Crystal Coast of North Carolina, in the small town of Emerald Isle…Juli Cooke, hard-working and getting nowhere fast, marries a dying man, Ben Bradshaw, for a financial settlement, not expecting he will set her on a journey of hope and love. The journey brings her to Luke Winters, a local art dealer, but Luke resents the woman who married his sick friend and warns her not to hurt Ben—and he’s watching to make sure she doesn’t.Until Ben dies and the stakes change.Framed by the timelessness of the Atlantic Ocean and the brilliant blue of the beach sky, Juli struggles against her past, the opposition of Ben’s and Luke’s families, and even the living reminder of her marriage—to build a future with hope and perhaps to find the love of her life—if she can survive the danger from her past.
One Reviewer Notes:
Ms. Greene's debut novel is stunning in both depth of content and characterization. Juli has some hard edges when the story opens, but her kindness and humanity soon have you rooting for her, and Ben is simply wonderful, a man of faith in the nicest way. Luke is edgy and exciting, and has to find his own transformation. Maia, Anna and the other secondary characters are three-dimensional and well defined. Then there's the Carolina coast, itself a character of comfort and drama. This is a sweet romance, but packed with emotion. Faith plays a major role in bringing the protagonists to their own thrilling fulfillment, yet it's done in a delightful, non-preachy way. Author Grace Greene has developed multiple layers in her wonderful story: a tender romance, emotion, great pacing and superb characterization. Kudos to Ms. Greene in her stunning debut. She is definitely an author to watch.
S. Barrett
About the Author
Grace Greene writes fiction with romance, suspense and inspiration, always with a strong heroine at its heart, and there's a happily-ever-after ending--most of the time. Her next novel, Kincaid's Hope, is scheduled for release in January 2012. In Kincaid's Hope, Beth Kincaid finds that swearing off the Kincaid temper and creating the perfect life free from untidy emotionalism has its own dangers and can even get you killed.

Lady Scandal (A Fun & Sexy Regency Romance)

by Larissa Lyons
4.2 stars – 6 Reviews
Text-to-Speech and Lending: Enabled

Top Pick from ARe Café: “[Lady Scandal] is the most flirtatious, sensual, and delectable treat I have discovered this month. Their interview was sexy, sinful and an erotic fantasy.” Lady Rhyleigh, ARe Café
Also named a Recommended Read!Lady Scandal awarded the Golden Nib! “I can’t praise this book enough. Regency fans, if you like gorgeous wit in with your devilishly superb, well written, sexy reading matter, Lady Scandal should be on your ‘Must Read’ list.” Natalie, Miz Love & Crew Love’s Books

*MAD*WARNING* This is not your momma’s traditional Regency! Written using period slang, Lady Scandal is peppered with salty exchanges and flavored with spicy dialogue. Intended for readers over 18.

All of London is ablaze with rumors about the identity of Lady Scandal, a female brazen—and desperate—enough to advertise for a husband.

But for Juliet, the young and surprisingly innocent widow, it’s her last option if she wants to avoid another marriage not of her choosing. Her prickly, pig-headed father has threatened to marry her off once again but this time Juliet is not without resources. She hopes the unentailed lands she possesses are enough to “bribe” some rich man to swoop in and save her from another unwanted union. And she has fingers and toes crossed she can find a potential bridegroom who will make her insides melt.

Zeus Tanner, a self-made man from humble origins, has one driving goal—to reclaim his stolen birthright. When the scandalous advertisement catches his eye, Zeus believes he’s found the key to realizing his dream. But after surpassing the arduous task of obtaining an audience with the infamous Lady Scandal—who’s hidden herself behind a screen without explanation!—Zeus never imagined he’d be asked such a strange assortment of questions, given a test of manners over an atrocious scone, and ordered to disrobe and show her his chest—and “male parts”. Zeus heartily refuses to comply with this last outrageous request. Unless, he ponders out loud, the intriguing female is willing to trade her stockings and stays for the privilege…

WHAT REVIEWERS ARE SAYING ABOUT LARISSA LYONS and her full-length novel Deceived by Desire: 4½ Stars from Romantic Times – “This deliciously wicked Regency romp is an irresistible tale that weaves shapeshifting lions with clairvoyance and steamy sex…an ingeniously constructed plot…Laced with wit, scandal and true love, it’s a wonderfully entertaining escape.”

One Reviewer Notes:

“Lady Juliet Ashland wants the new husband to be a man unlike her late husband. He must be strong, generous in nature, and extremely versatile in the bedchamber. How would she find such a man, well by interviewing him of course. After going through 23 applicants, a broken leg and terrible manners Juliet has found her Romeo or in this case her Zeus. Zeus J. Tanner is proving to be a challenge and a complete fascination all qualities that Juliet needs and has the ability to arose her every desire with a simple verbal exchange. They both have secrets but once the clothes come off and the truth is told will it really matter if they find they are well suited? This book is a quick, fun and erotic read about a woman who wants to find her own husband and do so on her own terms. It has some racy parts but nothing any romance reader has not enjoyed before! ”

Mary J. Gramlich, Top 1000 Reviewer
About the Author
With a penchant for sexy, studly cowboys and rowdy, roaring rogues, Larissa is happiest when writing about strong men with a weakness for the right woman. She loves cats, chocolate, and her husband - though not necessarily in that order (brownies rank in there somewhere, as do James Bond films). Here’s the set-up:

A lighthearted look at one woman’s search for everyday greatness, true friendship, love, and the perfect job.

From Gina Robinson, America’s acclaimed master of the super-sexy spy novels Spy Candy, Spy Games and the upcoming The Spy Who Left Me, comes a new novel for anyone who’s been down on their luck, out of work, or is just looking for a fresh path to greatness . . .

SHE’S BEEN PINK-SLIPPED . . .

Now Leesa Winsome just has to fend off all unsuitable offers until the dream job she’s been promised actually comes through. Which should be anytime now. Really. Unfortunately, the mind-numbed bureaucrats at the Employment Security Office insist she make her required three job applications a week and settle for any “reasonable” offer. Or they’re cutting off her unemployment. The thing is–their definition of reasonable is completely unreasonable. It’s time to get creative with her applications. . .

NOW SHE’S DESPERATELY SEEKING GREATNESS . . .

Convinced Leesa is failing to get a new job, her family sends her to a motivational workshop at the Northwest Institute, “where greatness begins,” to get some inspiration. And she finds it in the charismatic speaker, handsome, eligible Ryne Garrett. At the workshop, she joins a wacky group of fellow jobseekers–the Job Camp Group. But just when everything is falling into place, things go horribly wrong. It will take a lot more than greatness and inspiration to get her through it.

One Reviewer Notes:

“Leesa Winsom is not having a good life. First she gets pink slipped, then her kitchen goes up in flames during a home renovation, and she’s forced to move in with her father and older sister. Her godmother, Alice, talks her into going to a “Breakthrough to Greatness” seminar where she meets Roger and Bud, head of the Job Camp Group {JCG for short}, and Ryne…who invented the BtG seminar and happened to save her at a Starbucks moments before – where Lees happened to say she wasn’t buying into the whole “greatness” thing, not knowing who he was. Oops… I loved this book…it was a light, enjoyable read that had a lot of funny moments included. Ms. Robinson definitely knows how to hold a reader’s attention and keep them coming back for more. I’d definitely recommend this as a beach read, or sitting on the porch enjoying the peaceful breeze nights when you just want to relax with a good, lighthearted book. ”
