Who Needs A Hero

by Jennifer L. Hart
4.7 stars – 3 Reviews
Here’s the set-up:

A Heroine in Distress….

In the span of one afternoon, Maggie Sampson lost everything—her job, her fiancé and her inheritance. The thing she’ll miss most though is her mind. What else could explain her vision of the handsome and enigmatic stranger who retrieved her engagement ring when she hurled the rock into the Atlantic Ocean? Normal people just don’t do things like that. Sometimes fantasy is better than reality.

A Hero Who Needs Saving….

To the rest of the world, Neil Phillips is a decorated war hero, a Navy SEAL who has what it takes to get the job done. In private he is a walking raw wound with two boys, a broken marriage and a nasty case of PTSD. Despite his personal struggles he helped Maggie when she needed it most. Now, Maggie is on a mission and she’s not going anywhere until she returns the favor—with interest.

Who Needs A Hero?

A warrior with a wounded heart, a woman with nothing to lose—there are no victims here, only courageous souls, both in need of rescue.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great book!! :)), May 25, 2011

Amazon Verified Purchase(What’s this?)

This review is from: DESIRE (Desire #1) (Kindle Edition)

I really enjoyed reading this book. It is fast-moving, and you won’t be able to put the book down once you start reading it.

The main character, Kama lives in Arcadia, where her boyfriend,
Liam is the son of the founder and governor of Arcadia. In every
person’s 18th birthday, they get their own Life Plan, where it is
written who they would marry, where would they would live and how many
children they would have. Kama, who is soon turning 18, expects her Life
Plan to tell her she would marry Liam, where she would live happily
ever after, but that never happened. After that, she finds out a secret
which her mother was hiding from her and an enchanting boy, called
Torrid shows up.

I really am a fan of Kailin Gow!! I like how her books’ endings
make you want to buy (or wait, in this case) the next book in the
series. I really loved this book.

Buy this book and you won’t regret it! 😉

5.0 out of 5 stars Desire this book!, June 26, 2011

This review is from: Desire (Desire #1) (Paperback)

DESIRE: Book 1 in the Desire Series by Kailin Gow

Desire introduces you to a strange new world where your whole life
is planned out for you at age 18. Even if you want one thing for
yourself whatever is planned out is what you must do…or else.

Desire follows the story of Kama. A young girl who is about to turn
18. Her life is perfect and she hopes that her life’s plan will have her
life following the path she’s on now. She hopes that her plan will be
just as she wishes just like her boyfriend’s and her best friend’s have.
Everything was going exactly as it should be until she comes across a
mysterious yound man who captures her attention with one glance, and is
able to speak to her in her mind. All it took was one gently whisper in
her head and a gorgeous face to go with it and Kama is thrown into a
world she never expected.

When Kama receives her life’s plan in the mail she’s left in shock,
it’s nothing like she expected and her boyfriend Liam is no longer in
the picture. Heartbroken and torn on what to do now Kama and Liam try to
find a way to fix what is wrong and put Kama back on to the path she
was meant to be. But is it what Kama truely wants. With an empty life’s
plan Kama doesn’t know what to do. She knows she can’t be with Liam now
that he wasn’t mentioned in her plan and the thought of that rips her
apart. Her heart aches to be with him because that’s all she’s ever
wanted, but her mind now wanders to the mysterious man with the power to
speak to her from a distance.

As Kama delves deeper into the world she’s lived in all her life she
begins to question the truth behind Arcadia. Her eyes are opened to
what happens behind the scenes, the truth about her family is revealed
as well as what Liam’s father has really been doing with Arcadia, and
Kama must learn to accept the path she’s been given because it’s a gift,
giving her the power to explore the truth behind every lie.

Desire was a new and interesting story in the YA genre. It has you
wondering about the true nature of this so-called perfect world. Will
Kama discover the truth about her life? Will her life’s plan give her
freedom or just cause more problems. Desire was mysterious and engaging
with an ending that leaves you wanting more.

Another great read by Kailin Gow!

Organic for Health

by Sandy Powers

5.0 stars – 6 Reviews
Lending and Text-to-Speech: Enabled
Here’s the set-up:
In the award winning guide to health, ORGANIC FOR HEALTH, cancer and liver disease survivor Sandy Powers shares first-hand knowledge of antibiotics in meat and seafood, pesticide absorption in fruits and vegetables, and additives that can trigger asthma and hyperactivity in children. You won’t believe what the U.S. Department of Agriculture permits farmers to inject into beef cattle, sheep, poultry, and dairy cows. After all, the faster an animal gains weight, the more quickly it can be slaughtered and sped to your dinner table. More telling yet, the USDA has mandated that organic food cannot contain added hormones, antibiotics, synthetic pesticides, irradiated components, or reprocessed sewage. That means non-organic foods most likely contain these additives, all of which may be detrimental to your health, or even deadly.
Sandy includes the healing and restorative power of foods in the recipes she has devised and adapted to heal the body. ORGANIC FOR HEALTH will help you to begin the path to health.

A Guest Post Unlike Any Other: 4.8 Stars on 58 Out of 62 Rave Reviews for Bo Hoefinger’s BAD TO THE BONE: Memoirs Of A Rebel Doggie Blogger

“Imagine ‘Marley & Me’ written from a dog’s point of view, but much funnier and with a happy ending! … Feel-good reading which will brighten your day.”-Your Dog Magazine

“Witty commentary and hilarious observations.”–Dog Living

We  could go on and on with the rave reviews, but instead let me introduce today’s guest poster, Bo Hoefinger:

Let’s get this clear right away:

I’m a dog.

I’m 1’10” and weigh 63 lbs, and although I’m a mutt on the outside, I’m a purebred on the inside. My good nature comes from the Golden Retriever side of the family, while my stubbornness is clearly from my Chowchow bloodlines. I’ve got Rastafarian ears, a black tongue for licking, and paws that should be on a dog twice my size.

I type 60 words a minute.

My name is Bo, and this is my story.

To join me on all my crazy adventures you can Kindle me for $7.38, less than a box of dog treats. I’m also available to our friends across the pond, Amazon UK.  I donate a portion of my proceeds to dog (and cat) rescue.

EXCERPT:  Of All The Gin Joints in All The World

We met back in the early ‘90’s, December of ’92 to be exact. I just had

a major blowout with my first, somewhat dysfunctional family and decided that it was best for all if I just left. My foster dad gave me a ride to nowhere and before I knew it, I was at a boarding house in upstate New York. The place was great, warm with plenty of company, and their cheesy poof biscuits were to die for. On the downside, it was loud and smelly, not unlike me.

Even a lowly pug could smell her coming from miles away. It was Monday, as I recall, and the bells on the door jingled to announce her arrival. She was a beautiful blonde with a quick smile and a determined look. We’d seen this type before; they usually left with one of the pure bred puppies, but something was different about this one. My instincts told me that any canine would be darn lucky to go home with a girl like her, so I made it my top priority to be that hound.

As she came closer to my humble accommodations, I tried everything I could to grab her attention. When she finally got to me I made direct eye contact with her, tilted my oversized cranium at a 45 degree angle and gave her my trademark ‘BoPaw’ reach.

FEEL THE RUSH! BARGAIN BOOK ALERT! Buy One eBook, Get Two Bestsellers Free!

Today’s Bargain Book Alert places the spotlight on author Richard Bard’s “Feel the Rush” promotion, which is designed to be a win-win for everyone: you get three books for the price of one — including two Kindle bestsellers! — and Richard gets a chance to find another fan for his novel BRAINRUSH.

And if that isn’t reason enough to give BRAINRUSH a try, consider the fact that this page-turner of a novel has already garnered 15 straight 5-star reviews from Kindle readers and, as Richard relates below, it has scored kudos from at least one celebrity reader:

Show of hands—How many of you are Crosby, Stills & Nash fans?  If you’re over 30, you’ve got a hand up, over 55 and you’ve got two hands up.  And you younger folks…you’re fans too, even though you may not know it; you hum along to their songs everyday on the radio, never realizing the artists behind the music are the voice of three generations.

I’m a big fan—always have been—so imagine my elation two weeks ago when I received an email from David Crosby telling me that he absolutely loved my debut thriller, BRAINRUSH.  And he wasn’t kidding; he even gave a shout-out at the MUSE benefit concert at the Shoreline Pavilion in SF on August 7th, with the likes of Jackson Brown, Bonnie Raitt, John Hall and a bunch of others on the scene.  Now that’s a brain-rush!

Nothing would make me happier than for you to share David’s excitement over my new thriller.  That’s why I’ve come up with a unique promotion that gifts you two (2) Bestsellers from the Top-10 PAID Kindle-Bestseller list when you purchase BRAINRUSH for $2.99.

Here’s how it works:

You purchase the BRAINRUSH eBook for $2.99. Then just email a proof-of-purchase in the form of a screen-shot of your order confirmation, or simply forward the order-confirmation email you receive to Promo@RichardBard.com.

I will then immediately send you a gift certificate for each of these Kindle bestsellers:

As of Aug 22nd, they’re both in the Top 20 overall in the Kindle Store!

That’s it! No Tricks… No Gimmicks… No Obligation. Do I hope that you’ll read BRAINRUSH first? Sure! Am I keeping my fingers crossed that you’ll let me know how you feel about it by leaving a review on Amazon? Of course! But that’s entirely up to you. Happy reading!

Sincerely,

Richard Bard
